I have been absent from this board for quite a while, but I still live in Ankara. About a year ago I did my last bar-hopping-tour, concentrated around the "Dedeman Area"; the area of action. The Dedeman Hotel changed name several years ago and is now called "Latanya Hotel". It is no longer girl friendly!

The only bar remaining from the old days and still worth going to is www.corteclubbar.com . It is a working girl house, basically and you will find what you are looking for. A bunch of waiters from the former Avlu Bar work there now. In order to pick up a chick, you need to place yourself in there and order a drink. All drinks are the same price, smth around 50 TL. When you see a girl who you want to talk to you ask a waiter to bring her (give him 5 TL) next to you and she will order her drink. Her drink will be double the price of yours. Once she has her drink you can negotiate the rest of the evening. Usually the girls will take you to one of the nearby hotels (e. G. "Murat Hotel") or all the way down to a shady place in Kizilay. Its up to the girl and she will choose the hotel that pays most commission to them. Expect smth around 200 TL for the hotel room and another 20 TL for the taxi to get you there. Adding up all side-expenses (200 TL hotel, 20-30 TL taxi, 5-10 TL tip at the wardrobe in Corte, 5-10 TL tip for the guy who opens your taxi door, probably 200 TL for your and her drink (s)), chick-hunting in Corte Bar or other hooker bars can be quite costly. However, if you are in Ankara for a longer time and are looking for a long-term hooker, available whenever you need her, chick-hunting in Corte Bar can be worth the investment. For me personally hunting from the escortnews – menu is easier and more comfortable. In order to access escortnews in Turkey, you need a VPN. They do offer a URL for use in Turkey, but the government keeps blocking access all the time, so a VPN is a must. Usually there are around 20 girls on that website, catering in Ankara. Most of them are up to visiting you in your hotel or even in your home. Almost all of them work from one of the larger hotels, so you can go there and screw them in their rooms. The prices are around 1. 000 TL per hour incall. I used to hit the bars after dinner so around 10 pm. Unless the situation has drastically changed in the last few years, I did not feel uncomfortable walking the streets at night, though as in all big cities one should be street aware when walking, speaking on the phone while walking or flashing wads of notes in the bars when paying should of course be avoided. Also do not run up a tab at the bars and pay at the end of the evening, better to pay for every drink as you order. Also do not be enticed into bars by pimps outside soliciting you (very common in Istanbul, but not so much in Ankara).

You will find the bars on the same street as the Dedeman Hotel and down the side street opposite. As I said if Local Expert is reading this he will be able to give you more up to date info.
