Here is the easy guide in Istanbul that wroked for me on all of my visits:

- Go to AKSARAY
- Find IRMAK or MELODY (next to each other). There is a map in previous postings. Others seem to be rip-offs.
- Pick the one (irmak or Melody) with the better looking girls I like this setup because you sit, drink, look around and wait to pick one.
- Sit at a table and order a drink.
- Look around to pick one.
- Invite her over with a nice gesture (offering a sit across from you.. ) and she will come.
- Most speak some English .. these are educated people. Language is usually not an issue.
- Compliment her
- Offer her a drink. Waiters will ask if you do not.
- Order the drink

So we sat, ordered our beers, chatted with one of the bar guys. His name was Ahmet. I asked about the hotel right above the bar. He replied that it was for girls only. So no "short-time" customers are welcome. But they would send me to a clean hotel. - Duh - I know that.

As you can see, I am talking more about the money I have spent than the girl and the experience. It' s because I only remember that I was being ripped of. The total experience costed 300 ytl per person and only half of it went to the lady. I was really pissed of at myself later on. If I were at Irmak as I originally planned, I would decrease the total damage by at least 50 ytl if not 100 ytl. Shame on me.

Italian, I stood 1 week in Istanbul. My impression is that it is really worth a visit. Based on most travel reports read in this forum, I went almost every evening to Aksaray. I spent much more that planned, but surely the ratio cost/benefit is advantageous, compared to almost all other places I visited worldwide. So many stunning girls, available to play, and for an affordable price!

The map in the report of distinction #357 is really *helpful*. Accurate, both in the map and in the bar description. I confirm everything stated there.

Actually, the real problem in Aksaray is avoiding bars designed to squeeze money to tourists. I didnt find real rip-offs, but surely I experienced places where the unique aim was overcharging. Often, I got the impression to be charged more than average, being a tourist. Though, compared to prices we'd be asked to pay in most European countries (not to mention USA!), it is still convenient.

Moreover, I suggest to avoid all places where men take people outside and literally push them inside (common habit there).

However, it is a safe area. I've never been harassed or felt in danger, although such a surrounding (or some dark bars) would make people to worry in most foreign towns. This is a reason why to like Turkey (or just Istanbul?).

I hope it will not change in the future.

This is a summary of my experience.

Note: all bars were sampled after 11pm, till even 3am.

HOTELS

Most girls met in bars of Aksaray will take you by taxi (5 YTL) to nearby hotels. Charge: 70 YTL. Mostly clean. In one case I found the bed used and not cleaned!

LEO

They have a car and stay in the road, watching the people and doing nothing. One night they came by bus and took about 10 girls away from Nokia Bar. They took them away by bus. Really curious, why that bar and why at that time? While all other bars were going on with their business? (I guess, but I do not say)

Done so, the LEOs in normal clothes went away shaking hands to policemen in uniform. After half an hour, all girls, disappeared in the back of all bars on police arrival, showed up again from nowhere.
