I just read in a newspaper article that committing adultery might become punishable in Turkey. A parliamentary commission has been discussing to bring penalties for those married guys who got somehow arrested with a third party, male or female. I guess, if they catch two guys doing it, they would still consider that the law is broken.

According to the newspaper, both major parties in the parliament agreed to make it punishable and legislative action should be following soon.

Any comments on this, especially domestic guys who got married?

I thought this country was trying to get into EU and changing the law and the penalties accordingly. I wonder if any EU member is applying such measures.

What would happen to a foreigner tourist caught in action? Would they detain the guy if the wife submits a complaint to the police?
