I have read that there are a few red light districts in Istanbul around the Harbor area. Additionally I have read that these areas are tightly controlled and that entry requires a Passport to enter and that security at the entrances may require a payment to enter. Also only licensed Hookers and males are allowed to enter from what I have read. I have also read somewhere that foreigners are not allowed in. Does anyone on this site have any experience in these red light districts? The questions I have besides any experience someone is willing to share are as follows:

1. Would a color photocopy of my Passport work for entry if required? My Passport is not leaving my Hotel.

2. Costs? I here its cheap, the money is paid to the brothel owner and if you pay the girl additional; perhaps better service.

3. Recommended Brothels?

4. Recommendations for a local guide to escort me in and out of the Red Light district?
