So be a little careful. I think they wanted to get some extra tips from them bringing customers there. In the old times you go to City Hotel, pay 80TL for the room. 10TL tip and everyone happy. As a result I can recommand Balance, but of course not to be compared with similiar places in Eastern Europe or Russia. If you want to put it critical one can say, it is a cheap and not very classy version of Nightflight in Moscow but without a real alternative in Istanbull at least a one I know

Nice report George. You are local or foreign? How was the talent available in Cocktail compared to Balance? If there is anyone here knows safe clubs in Aksaray area please share. Of course I am asking safe for locals. They are never %100 safe for foreign people. You must be old in the game because City hotel was 80 TL years and years ago. And the name was Seranda. Anyway you reminded me the good old days and I totally agree with you Balance is far best choice in city. I am trying to tell this to people since one year. Of course if you are looking for some adventure you can search for escorts.

The best place for me is Balance close to City Hotel or old Seranda. You pay 50 TL entrance fee, are guided to a table and the first drink you order is included. You can sit and watch the people without being herassed and no waiter is bothering you every 5 minutes to buy a new drink. 90% plus are local people.

In the Disco are 20-40 girls mainly from Romania and the Ukraine. The action starts 23. 30. The negotiation are only allowed to be taken place on the dancefloor. You go there and talk to them. It is funny for foreigners like me, but it works. The majority of the girls are definately not models but ok more on the older side. 30 and above.

The price is 300 TL for 2 hours. I took a girl from Ukraine with me to my hotel at Taksim which was no problem. My friend wanted to go to a local hotel recommanded by the girl and had problems, because they wanted to force him to go to a place he don t know. So be a little careful. I got scammed pretty decent last night. I met a fellow in Taksim and he said he wanted to go to a club nearby. Next thing I know in way outside town in Zeytinburno, at a nightclub where they charge you for girlie drinks and put small plates if food on the table. I knew this was a bad sign and finished my beer, however my girlie ordered 3 drinks in that time span. Total bill was 1400 Lira! I asked to speak with manager and went into hard negotiations with him about the gouging bill. After awhile he took the bill down to 600 lira and I decided to pay and teach myself a hard lesson. Ouch.

Sorry to hear that, most of has been scammed at one point. Those small plates in Turkey still make me very suspicious today when establishment put things on the table.

Exactly this happened to me 10 years ago. BUT we walked into the touristpolice station that happened to be next to our hotel, at 4AM or something we explained what happened and they called over the nightclub owner and screamed and interrogated him for a while while holding their big guns and then we got all our money back. Interesting experience, we were kinda scared afterwards that we had pissed off the nightclub management. And we had to wait a long time at the station. I see this as a sign of how important / forceful the police can be in Turkey. In most countries I have been to, the police would not care about some drunk westeners that lost their money while talking to half-naked ladies. Not sure if the police would help you in the same way today though?
