I was around the aksaray a few days ago. I took a look around and visited the street which Irmak restaurant was in. Irmak and melody seems like they will not open again. Any advice, tips, or warning you have would be useful. I would prefer a place with its own rooms, clean girls, and I don't mind paying some extra for that (I'm not rich or anything but I am American). Unfortunately I don't speak Turkish so a place that is tourist friendly is good too.

The only legal places in Turkey (as far as I know) are places called "Genel Ev" and only Turkish Citizens are allowed to enter.

Your best bet will be a massage parlour. Escorts rarely match the photos IMHO, at least in the MP you get a choice of the lady.

Avoid pimps and clubs like the plague! See the forum for many horror stories.

Funny you should say that CB, she was most annoyed that we were almost constantly followed by large groups of turkish men whilst we were sightseeing. Turkish guys on the street seems to just lose their shit when they see a tall blonde girl. I think Istanbul is going to be a real challenge for her, as good manners and polite behaviour are things she values highly.
