Dear Folks,
I know Kumburgaz area very well and I would really like to learn this famous place as well. If you can describe me the place, I can give you the exact name of the hotel. Here are some names which can help you to remember that particular hotel:
Princess Hotel Kumburgaz: Largest one in that area. Probably this is not that hotel
Marin Hotel: A 3 star hotel very close to Slivri area, just 6 km.
AquaClub Hotel: A gay friendy hotel in Kumburgaz area. This may be the one....

By now we all know how to get to Kumburgaz , is this ranch like place on the road to Silivri , on the right hand side ,any peculiar signs to spot the place any name for this hotel.
I will appreciate if you could let us know.
I have been there last week there is a hotel past downtown Kumburgaz on the right hand side with a parking lot and a restaurant.Babes were 5-8 and I was told that in order to enter the disco you have to be a couple.
If any expertise in this field please advise.

Hey Novice...
Take TEM by car (trans europe motorway, kind of turnpike) when you get "Marmara Eregli Toll station" take Kumburgaz exit. Then you reach Kumburgaz but i have no information about that farm which i am concerning too..Kumburgaz is a suburban, kind of summer city.Marmara sea is on your left side driving to Kumburgaz
Street sleuth...
You must find Laleli or Aksaray first..They are next to each other..
There goes a manin road from Aksaray to sea side. When you walk down the main road ,Laleli area is on your left side whole block...irmak is on that street on the left side while walking to sea direction..
Dont pass the railway bridge...
bye..

let me try to put the rep001tered pieces of information about the street/bar scene a bit more into system. (unfortunately i haven't been in istanbul for a couple of months, so my geographics is a bit whacky by now.)
the main artery in the action area is mustapha kemal cad. it connects the biggest (and ugliest) road junction in town with the seashore. it is located in the yenikapi neighbourhood, a narrow sliver of blocks sandwiched between laleli and aksaray. (this is important because there's a street of almost the same name in aksaray, and taxi drivers tend to get confused.)
if you start from the junction and walk toward the sea:
1) irmak is a small street on your left (first or second street) full of innocent-looking street cafes.
2) the (in)famous bacardi club is in a shopping mall to your right on the first part of the steet. there's a diminutive sign outside, the club is in the basement.
3) toward the end of the street there are some music bars to your right ("muzikhol" in turkish). some of them are rip-offs, but the slightly seedy big pub is actually good value, especially in the late afternoon.
4) there is some street action on mustapha kemal itself, but it is not organised: it seems largely confined to girls who otherwise work in muzikhols.
on the area more generally:
the area west of mustapha kemal (or to your right, as you walk down the street) is full of muzikhols, some of them "honest", some of them rip-offs. the neighbourhood is dominated by shops selling car parts and other items to russian suitcase traders, but there are plenty of inconspicuous little places as well. expect to pay 10-15 dollars for drinks; 50 dollars to the girl (1-2 hours); 30-40 dollars to a hotel of her choice (some but not all will go to your place).
on rip-offs:
turks are quite self-ironic people, and unless you run into hardened criminals (they are more common in the streets than inside the muzikhols) they consider their little rip-off tricks as "outsmarting" rather "robbing" you. you can get a long way by simply smiling and saying you will have nothing of that. reject the most outrageous tricks outhand (e.g. ask you to pay for a full buffet for having eaten a few nuts); negotiate about the others (e.g. if the lady drink turns out to be 10 times normal price, smile and say, "look, i'll give you one xx dollars, and no bones will be broken"). it works every time - but keep smiling, to them it's a game and righteous anger works against intentions.

Posts: 168I will be visiting Istanbul for a week in September. Where is this 'Irmak' area? How do I get there?
I prefer to try and find Russian women (both working and the regular kind), as I speak a bit of Russian. Any help will be appreciated.
