According to the CIA fact book, the 2007 average income was $7000, this would allow @ 36% for a mortgage payment of $2520 per year or $210 per month.

$210 per month does not get you a $300,000 condo.

I often take the metro from the 'outskirts' to golden gate and need to transfer to the red line in center. Usually around 6pm.

3 months ago it was packed. Sardines even. And the next train had to stop and not open doors as there was no place for new people.

Now. It is down at least 50%. Maybe more. Why? (if ya can't figure this you flunk)

This is a leading indicator.

Trailing? Well, the price of pussy has begun to trickle down. But nothing like the metro riders. 4 months from now.

I am assuming that it's much more common for them to earn their keep for a while rather than pay cash for such an arrangement. That would suit me fine since what I really want is a live-in for six months or so....

So the real question for me is whether I should concentrate on those listing "fictitious marriage" if I want to find a live in. Opinions?

I have seen many discussions here about the dangers of actually going through with a marriage of convenience - the main one being losing half your assets in the divorce, or accusations of abuse. Better to find some other import scheme. Some countries have special rules for "au pair girls" or other domestic workers. Alternatively, maybe she could come as a student? Even sponsoring her full ticket for school might be cheaper than a costly divorce or immigration fraud problems.
