I know Buddha bar, which previously had the reputation of being the lair of high end pros, was closed for renovation and just reopened.

Has anyone been there since the reopening? Any advise?

I will be in Kiev next week.

As far as I know there was no confirmation from there about the exact date of reopening. The renovation was a bit lengthy as told by my friends, but can't confirm though. Have you been there previously and what has been your experience if so?

It's about guys who wish to marry girls from other countries. I usually don't watch it, but I saw an ad about one episode involving an American guy and a Ukrainian girl. So, I thought to myself, let's watch it. I don't know if it's allowed to post the name of the TV show here, but if you google the names of the people you will find the show online.

The guy is called Cesar, the girl is called Maria. They met on a dating site. No, she is not a black guy sitting in an internet café in Lagos, no she is real, well maybe "too real" if you know what I mean.

I saw 4 or 5 episodes of this show. He is a low middle-class guy but managed to spend 40 k US $ on her in a time frame (if I remember well of 5 years). He didn't have this money, so he borrowed money from his best friends and even from his boss. BTW everybody who gave him the cash said "She is a catfish bro". How many times did they meet in these 5 years? Well let me count, ZERO. Only chatting over skype. They showed some of the chats:

-What do you want?

-I am now sending you a ticket to the USA.

-Nooo, send me the money, I will buy the ticket. Bye.

The other guy, I forgot his name is from a farm somewhere in in the US and his "future wife" is called Natalie. Well, on the beginning I thought this couple would have some kind of chances, but boy after some episodes, I was obliged to change my mind. She wanted to become pregnant right away, among other reasons (he wanted to marry first). Plus, she a child of a former communist country is extremely religious. He, a child of the "In God we Trust" country is (as I understood) atheist.

A good show for those who still believe in love via internet dating. I don't, but it's just my humble opinion.

I had to stay away from this forum for several months because it reminded me too much of what I was missing by being away from Kyiv. To pass the time, I hung out on various other forums dedicated to wife hunting in the Former Soviet Union. Plenty of tales I could tell about idiots with more money than brains. For example, one man in his 50's, very wealthy apparently, took like 10 trips to Ukraine over a year, spent somewhere in the range of $30 K on a combination of travel, accommodations, restaurants, gifts, trip to Paris where he and girl slept in separate hotel rooms. At the end of all this, man was dumped rudely, never haven gotten more than a kiss on the cheek the whole time. Some interesting Youtube videos about this subculture.

Most of these other forums and youtubers promoting Ukraine are con men. Period.

If you want to move to Ukraine to find companionship, start with the hookers. Learn the difference between a girl that wants you financially and one that actually likes you.

I didn't just hang out on those forums to laugh at guys for being simps, though that's what they accused me of doing: boosting my fragile self-esteem by tearing down other people, or some such psycho-babble explanation of my motives. In fact, I was trying to be helpful. Lots of lonely and sex-starved older men in the USA, Australia, etc, and lots of lonely and sex-starved older women in Ukraine. But trying to bring these women out of Ukraine is a mistake, I argued. Men are supposed to be the adventurous sex. We should be moving to Ukraine, and ideally learning the language. And then we men need to understand how to capitalize on our primary asset, which is money, without being scammed. And the best way to do that, in my opinion, is to treat the relationship as sponsorship arrangement from the start, meaning essentially no spending on the woman until after initial sex, other than maybe a coffee or two, and then lots of spending after each sex act, or even cash transfers. "You sound like a sex tourist, which is not the kind of person we want in this forum" was more of less the response. Oh well, so that's why I'm venting here.

Cialis is freely available in Kiev pharmacies. I've purchased it on multiple occasions without prescription and it worked just like here in the US. I also saw Viagra, but personally prefer Cialis so cannot comment on the later's quality.
