Great report, but it's been like this for many years. When I was hanging out there five years ago, we were consistently being quoted prices for over to $200, sometimes more. I just want to share my opinion (as a guy who stays in Kyiv for many years) on why sex sells at higher prices each year here and who is the one to blame.

First of all I really think that most of you started Visiting Kyiv since 2013-2018. Those were pre and post revolution years and as some of you perfectly know from history lessons. Revolutions drop down the local currency to the bottom, cause everyone is getting rid of the assets that belong to the country on war / revolution. Ukraine had both. War and revolution. During 2014 - 2015 prices were rediculously low. Check this out. Now $1 is around 27-28 UAH. Back than I remeber exchanging $1 for 38 UAH (though few months before the rate was $1 - 8 UAH). I rented a perfect apartment in the center of Obolon for 7 k UAH which back then was 200-230 USD..

One of the best posts in a long time. Another factor pre-covid guys were working abroad. They would come back for weekends and blow made cash.

Invert that sentence and the dubious logic is revealed: "guys insisting on paying 2000 uah will only decrease prices without affecting supply. " On the contrary, if too many guys hold the line at 2000, that could easily cause supply to shrink, so that new equilibrium price is 3000. Not guaranteed that this will happen, but not guaranteed that what you suggested will happen either. I'm not currently seeking, because I'm happy with my regular, but from reading this forum, it appears supply has decreased, though probably more due to covid than because of guys balking at higher prices. In particular, supply at Mamba has apparently dried up, lots of apartments have shut down, etc.

As we saw with oil, which went from $160/ barrel in 2008 to $60/ barrel now (and that's not counting devaluation of the dollar over those 13 years), increasing supply can be a very powerful factor, because world demand for oil certainly hasn't decreased since 2008.
