Yes. You can send money with your foreign credit card. I tried Visa and Revolut (Virtual Mastercard). It is possible that your credit card company will ask you to confirm the transaction. But it works fine and very quick. The owner of the Monobank Card can send you a link via internet.

For once I have to agree with DramaFree11 versus PhotoSlider: single foreign men over age 40 are always assumed to be sex tourists in Kyiv, meaning men who travel for paid sex (PUAs travel for free sex). Kiev could be good for the next couple of months after the dust settles. Many girls that have left to other countries may return, because Kiev is cheaper. They will probably stay, save some money and leave the middle of the summer, then they will be gone again for better opportunities.

Western Union still works for now but with a possible issue. There have been recent cases where the bank or kiosk did not have dollars or euros (or did not want to pay out in the required currency). Your recipient may have to accept the grivna equivalent or try other locations. Do note that a great many bank branches have closed and those open work with reduced hours.

Looks like the banks and the money agencies are trying to hold the foreign cash in order to hedge the risk of further grivna downturn. My landlord has been insisting that the rent was paid in US dollars for a while.

I am really sad I missed getting there. I was going to be flying on or before the 30th but now my organization has a travel band on work travel even if their were flights in. ! This would have been a great time to develop the relationships that would have lasted in the year+ to come.
