I was told about the Polish Consulate in Kharkov. One of my current UA GFs "arranged" her visa there in the past for a facilitating fee.

Montenegro is truly beautiful country and it does attract mega rich Russians with their yachts in the summer. You need to keep a watchful eye on your girl. It also attracts more sophisticated tourists, so I guess the Ukrainians who like to go there are the more educated more traveled classes.

I've been there, it is more suited to a monger with a girl in her late 20's or 30 something on his arm.

Thanks Sorbonne. Read all the relevant posts but it never mentioned the swimming pool, the Villa with jacuzzis, etc.

It was just talk about Salons. I guess that's how it didn't register in my mind at the time as I don't visit girls at their in call apartments, aka Salons in Kiev, and from what was posted about Amrasura it doesn't actually make it just another Salon.

Go to Montenegro with her, no visa requered. Or to Georgia, flight to Tbilisi with UIA is only 200 round-trip (I think there's also seasonal Wizz Air flights to Batumi).

Thanks Uke for your help, this now looks impossible, yes she's 22, prob has no job, and her English is limited, I've told her what's required but all she says is, ok, ok, ok, or "I want to go to Spain" "I wait you" I'm worried about going to Kiev anyway with the conflict etc, and her inability to do anything without me is getting me down.

The visa itself costs 35 Euros. Can it be obtained in one day? No. Not unless she is an oligarch. It all depends on her status. Does she work, does she own her own apartment does she have a bank account, and if so, now much does she have in the account? She will need documents from her work and bank documents to prove that she will return to Ukraine once her trip ends. Does she have other Schengen visas and if so, then this next one is easier.

Sadly, if she is young, in school or has a low-paying job, attractive and has no visible means of support, and has not ever left Ukraine for the Schengen zone you may be out of luck.

You can try to do something through a travel agency and book a tour. That will be more expensive for you but has a slightly better chance of visa approval but absolutely no guarantee. If you take this avenue, you will need to get an insurance policy returning the money that must be paid up front to the travel agency in case the visa is denied.

I do not know where you are but if you want her to join you, you had better have her in Ukraine do all the fact-finding work to make sure what can or cannot be done. Believe me, people here do this type of investigation every day and very in-depth. It is amazing what they discover.

When I flew my gal, a student, from Kiev to the Caribbean last year, she came through London, where she stayed overnight on the ways to and back from the Caribbean. I suggested that she just slept on chairs at Heathrow, but I was surprised to learn that she was allowed to leave the airport overnight on both ways, even thought she didn't have any visa to UK.

So she got to do some sightseeing in the afternoon in London before she returned to Heathrow to sleep on chairs both nights.

This was all before the Trouble began last November.

The Schengen borders are not the leaky UK borders. You cannot compare the two. Try leaving one of the Schengen airports through passport control without a transit visa. You cannot. In the UK, the borders are so porous that almost anyone can and does get through.

Yes its a good idea fly into girona, have good rest.

Schengen visa requirements are more or less the same as for Ukrainians trying to get a British Visa. Make sure that she gets all the documents in order, because once refused, it will be very difficult for her to get a second chance. .

Jo, that was then, this is now. I am headed to Prague next week with a current "friend." She has Schengen visas and yet the Czech bastards gave her a one time entry / exit visa that took two weeks to get. We were expecting a multiple given the ravings and rantings of the EU in easing the visa issues, but they also lie big time. They are still holding the screws tight to make sure Ukrainians don't flee to London for jobs. (I know, London is not Schengen but you get the idea).
