Gentlemen, read back a few years. Ukraine doesn't exist to please you, just because you visit and willing to spend on a moderate budget. Kiev was never cheap. More precisely, there is a wide spectrum of services measured by price. Cheap, moderate, expensive, exuberant, - it is all there, especially for a long-term or frequent internal consumer. Regular customer always treated with a priority.

If you were on this Forum 5-10 years ago, you could have noticed that in time of survival many Kiev girls raise the price to compensate for less frequent appointments. Some customers can afford, and this model seems to work in a certain market segment. There is associated risk for the girls as well, and if not the bed in hospital, then even a visit to doctor is not cheap. Some of the girls retire to their village parents and survive there. Again Kiev is not cheap. Lockdown means much lower cash flow.

You may hope and expect, and Kiev will do what it considers proper for itself, not for you. Dealing with regulars is the way in Kiev. But I guess there is an option of BlaBlaCar. When I stayed in a city outside Kiev during lockdown, the price on BlaBlaCar to Kiev was similar to the one on Marshrutka.

All Californians over 16 will be eligible for vaccine on April 15 and all Americans over ?? on April 19. I wonder if this means the Americans will start flocking into Ukraine real soon. Not a good news. I can tell which American will be the first one to do so, lol. They will beat the Europeans, except the British.

The food isn't cheap their either. I wonder why they try to charge so much if their economy is bad.

With no tourists and very few options to fly abroad, I wonder how long they will survive with these $$$ expectations. Ukrainian men won't be spending so much. The situation in Kiev doesn't sound too great. I heard Uber drivers jacked up the price, given that the public transport is not running, and it now costs 800 UAH from Boryspil to the center.

It is my understanding that uber has an algorithm that automatically increases the price as demand goes up no matter where you live. Compared to other countries, 800 UAH for a 35 km trip is still a good price.
