OK, so I've learned that the Russian word for "sponsor" is "sponsor." Thanks for the hints. Maybe I should have guessed. Actually, I found out pretty quickly following links to the dating sites listed here.
I don't feel too bad since the Russian word for money is "denghi" which comes from Mongolian and would have been hard to guess.

8. All the girls I have sponsored have expressed that they only want to cover for their studies, their rent, and a very reasonable living. Those that express they need a lot of money for beauty salons, make-up etc., they are paid by the hour).
9. However, the girls that want thousands of dollars per month they have difficulties in finding some sponsor, after all there are more hot girls than rich Ukrainians)
10. Most girls I give money per month either I am in Ukraine or not. However, others I just give a clump sum for the time we are together and then not until we meet again. Of course these girls have others when I am not there.
11. If you travel frequently to Ukraine this is at least for me a great solution. It has in many situations been like have some very horny, sexy, hot girlfriends - and their abilities in the sex department have been thoroughly tested before any sponsorship is discussed. It is for me absolutely necessary that we have a good time also out of bed and intellectually. Therefore I never sponsor until we had "some test runs".
12. When I am there, I have the undivided attention of a girl I love to fuck and whose company I enjoy. Sometimes we are together 24 hours a day, having sex for morning, lunch, afternoon, night. Sometimes she is away for some hours to university, sometimes I am away for my business. usually they do some kitchen and food work - I have even had my shirts ironed!

I heard some prostitutes talking about their job starting in brothels. I am not sure brothels are dirty and dangerous places and I think there are nice and cheap girls in brothels too. Now everything has become expensive in Kiev and so I think to have a look in brothels, just to have an idea
My question is: where are brothels in Kiev? Brothels look like a government secret in Ukraine.

Question on "sponsoring" girls
A few posts have mentioned "sponsoring" college students.- for a few weeks, weekends, whatever. It was suggested that a number of girls 18-22 years old might be interested in such an arrangement and would say so on a web site like flirt.com. Ua. My vocabulary in Russian is small. (I can read stuff like: "I live with my family. " "I don't have kids but I would like to. " etc.)
Can anyone tell me what word or phrases I should look for?

I would try the Lybid Hotel for your first stay- it is a shithole for 90-100$ / night, but then you know it is a shithole and you can cope with it.If you go for a double room and bring in girls or have girls come to you, it is no problem at all. if you book a single, you are cheaper, but then you need to sign the girls in and pay the difference every night. so go for double.
Then after your first visit, go for apartment since you will know your way around, you have learned to live with the dark holes and the fun places and be on your own feet. Otherwise, you can also try a website-based apartment service who take care of apartment and the furniture (sexy girls) and airport pickup and so on. but they are expensive, too.
