I will be in Kyiv for 4 days in about a month, and am seriously considering an apartment. I have been there several times, but I would like something more spacious yet close to the action. Does anyone have suggestions as to apartment services?

    Thanks!

Lot of visa-talk, can't you go there for a holiday? And get a visa to stay there a weekend of a week? Surely tourists don't need 'invitations', or do they?

Any reviews of the Premier Palace Hotel? Girl friendly? Bar action?

Also... will I need to book from a service to find some afternoon action on the day I arrive (so no time to get numbers from the disco)?

    Thanks much...

Yes and so you should Mr. Rogers, they were quite fkoosna!

I'm afraid the camera doesn't do them true justice,
they really were fresh and tasty.

Well, its my pleasure to bring to you
my new friend Tanya, a nice lady.
Quiet and sweet, but not very excitable.

She expects you to provide her with a modest
gift after she spends some of her time helping
you to relax in her busy hectic city.

There's only one real 5-star hotel in town, namely Premier Palace and only one real 4-star hotel, Dnipro.

I've always preferred Dnipro when I didn't stay in an apertment and never encountered any problems with the security.

You'll not face such a problem unless you show some sort of hesitation in your actions.

Don't forget to make the reservation by way of business so as to receive a discount and you could also get an extra discount for the weekends.

    Hotels vs apartments?

Will be in Kiev shortly, two days leisure, two days work. I will need a hotel for the work part of the trip.

Any suggestions for a nice, business style hotel where i won't have problems with security?

Should I try this on the weekend, or do an apartment for the firs two days and then a hotel for the rest.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks much...

Dear Vegamars and Ludovico. Thank you for your inputs.

I liked the apartments offered by gia. I am going to send them an email to send me 6 day letter of invitation. But I will spend some days on the black sea coast also.

From Vegamars earlier posts I get the idea that this letter thing is just a formality from the old soviet days. And that no one cross checks it, once I get the visa.

Please do correct me if I assumed wrong, otherwise thanks for the info. Hopefully I will have some good pictures and stories to share when I come back.

Here are the rules for visas, freshly copied from the Ukrainian Embassy web-site.

    INVITATIONS
    For Business Visa (Single/Double entry)
Nationals of the EU countries, Canada, Japan, Slovak Republic, Swiss Confederation, Republic of Turkey and the United States of America who apply for business, private, scientific, sport and cultural visas do not require a letter of invitation from Ukraine.

Nationals of all other countries require invitation to travel to Ukraine. Each application should be accompanied by a letter of invitation from the relevant Ukrainian company or organization (a faxed copy may be accepted). The invitation should state full name of the applicant and the purpose of journey.

In respect of companies which have already opened their representative office or have established joint ventures in Ukraine, visas may be issued on the basis of the letter, issued by such a company. The letter should state the nature and purpose of business conducted in Ukraine, contain the details of the Ukrainian business partner involved, quote the number of the registration certificate issued by the relevant Ukrainian authorities.
    For Business Visa (Multiple Entry)
Nationals of the EU countries, Canada, Japan, Slovak Republic, Swiss Confederation, Republic of Turkey and the United States of America who apply for business, private, scientific, sport and cultural visas do not require a letter of invitation from Ukraine.

Nationals of all other countries require invitation to travel to Ukraine. It is obligatory to present a detailed letter of invitation from Ukraine together with a detailed letter from the applicant's employer. Both letters should state the nature and purpose of business conducted in Ukraine and explain the necessity of issuing a multiple entry visa. Copy of a registration certificate of a company or representative office in Ukraine should be enclosed. Visa may be valid for up to one year.

Technical assistance applications should be accompanied by a letter from the Ministry of Economy, which is responsible for registration of all technical assistance projects.
    For Private Visa (Single/Double/Multiple Entry)
Nationals of the EU countries, Canada, Japan, Slovak Republic, Swiss Confederation, Republic of Turkey and the United States of America who apply for business, private, scientific, sport and cultural visas do not require a letter of invitation from Ukraine.

Nationals of all other countries require invitation to travel to Ukraine. Each application should be accompanied by a letter of invitation issued by the Passport and Immigration Department of a local Police Station in Ukraine (a faxed copy may be accepted).
    For Tourist Visa (Single/Double Entry)

Each application should be accompanied by a hotel booking confirmation (tourist voucher) received from a hotel in Ukraine. It should include the full name of a person and the period for which booking has been made (a fax copy may be accepted).

You could find a hotel in Ukraine and make a booking in some of them through "All Ukrainian Hotels" or "All-Hotels" informational websites.

I've tried the agency in the past, but not the particular girls of now, as they're changing all the time.

I can guarantee you that the girls are even better than they look in the pictures and their behaviour is decent all the time.

You could also go for uaescort.com for independent girls who are more open to bargaining compared to the agencies.

Especially if you're about to visit Ukraine for the first time, I'd advise you to get a business visa ( can be even for 15 days for instance ) to avoid long awaiting or unnecessary conversations at the passport and customs check points.

Except for a few countries closely interrelated with Ukraine, everyone needs a sort of invitation for a touristic visa.

However, unlike Belarus, Moldova or Russia, you're not obliged to register if you're staying in an apartment, just like I've never done in my so many visits.

Moreover, you're completely free to travel within the country to any location as you like.

As far as I'm concerned, Ukraine is the most comfortable country in CIS in terms of receiving both touristic and business visas and in terms of travelling around without any distress or hassles.

As a cheaper and more comfortable alternative to arranging apartments and much more, I'd advise you to contact agencies like gia.com.ua which would gladly serve you for visas, apartments guides ( of course I'm talking about one of their hot girls acting as a guide, interpreter and more day and night).

If you are from Europa or USA, you could get a private visa and you don't need an invitation.

If you are from another nationality, you need an invitation or a tourist voucher.
