I don't understand the snarky / insecure comments that permeate this entire board. When I travel, I travel for leisure and don't have the time to invest in a wannabe working girl (aka "good girl" My time is valuable and I want a sure thing. I pay for that and sometimes I pay a lot for that. Why do any of you care? The fact the number is even shared is nothing more than a data point. On any given day, money doesn't make the top three things that I concern myself with and when I'm mongering I doubt if it makes the top ten. On my last trip to Kyiv I spent an entire week with a stripper from one of the major clubs. She went so far as to trade days off with another girl from a different week so she had 4 contiguous days off so we could fly to another city for a concert and I didn't have to pay her a thing (Did I give her money anyway? Absolutely). When back in Kyiv and she had to report to work I bought her out of the club every night and she basically spent an entire week with me without ever setting foot in the club other than to pay her fee on my behalf. On my last night in town I rented a large sauna room with pool, proper sauna, cold plunge pool, two bedrooms and 3 toilets (I think can't remember). It cost less than what I would have spent in a 5 star hotel room for the same night. This all cost me a shit ton of money and it was worth every penny. That's my story if you don't like it, don't do it, but I really don't care what you think about the cost. If you want to foot some of the bill next time I'd be happy to listen to whatever you have to say..

You experience is what is called "anecdotal evidence" which means that you've had a good experience, but it means nothing on the larger scale.

The fact remains that the so called "teahouse scam" is age old and crosses just about every culture. You can go onto any major destination forum on Tripadvisor for example and you'll find a pinned first post warning people of this very tourist dupe. If you make a connection with a girl over some time and there's trust is one thing, to get rinsed straight of the bat is another.

+1, Google the restaurant and read the reviews. Places like this that spiff the girls will have plenty of negative reviews. There's an Italian restaurant and karaoke bar in the Premier Palace hotel that supposedly does this but I googled it before we arrived and told her we're going somewhere else. She didn't walk away upset, we had a good meal somewhere and spent the rest of the night in my room.

You could have heard of it before but what I saw was a "new level".

All of you heard about what they call "consumation".

It is when a stripper or just a girl you met offline gets a % from the food / drinks you order. Usually it is 10-25% and its normal practice in many place (that's why strippers like fresh pine apple juice so much, cause it costs a lot=).

And here is "consumation" 2. 0. First of all it is aimed not just at drunk pussy seekers from abroad but works great on locals. Moreover, they told this scam (they even found the creator of it) works in Russia, Ukraine, Italy and god knows where else.

Here's the thing. You find a girl online, you start talking and she tells you she is rich (her dad owns an IT company), she has business and definitelly doesn't need any sponsor. You like her very much (because they have a team of professional "sellers" speaking to you and not a girl). So you arrange a meeting.

The girls says something like "ok, lets meet, I will pick you up with my driver". They pick you up in a place where there are no cafes / restaurants you ride in some direction and then the girls says something like: "I'm so hungry, let's stop somewhere, I will grab some food home". And you guessed it right. You stop at a special place which looks like a cafe but in fact it works only for this scam and is closed to public and has crazy prices like 2000 UAH for a drink and 5000 UAH for a salad. The dude pays, girl gets %.

They showed a video where 1 girl would bring FEW fools to the restaurant in 1 night!

If you want to see bigger strip clubs, you can visit Lviv. It's not as cheap as Kharkiv, but I'm sure it's cheaper than in Kiev. I have articles about both cities. I recommend you take a look.

Yes, I read that article and thought all the parties she was being invited to was awesome. However, I had the feeling that a middle aged guy may not find himself in the same situation. In fact, highly unlikely, and since that description would consist of most of the members here, don't count on being invited into the in crowd festivities. The person who wrote the article was female, probably attractive and in the right age category. See'est la vie.

What you write makes perfect sense and I normally would agree 100 percent. But the article reminded me that when I was in Odessa a couple years ago and opened my apartment door at exactly the same time as the couple across the hallway from me a conversation started in perfect English and they wanted me to come out and party with them and their friends that night. I'm neither female or young. So there is something to the author's experience and point she is making. I just figured they find Americans cool, young or old, male or female. And wanted a western viewpoint for discussions on their weekend drinking night together with a chance to practice their obviously proficient English speaking skills. I'd guess all these themes played into the author's luck of having a great time in Kyiv.

For the record I had other plans that night related to our hobby and so declined. I should have taken them up on their offer. I'm sure it would have been a much better night.
