Walk down any street of Kiev and you will see Georgians, plus loads of Georgian restaurants and food outlets selling khachapuri and other Georgian foods and condiments abound making Georgia much too familiar.

Just spent two weeks in Georgia with ukrainian GF and even is Georgian food is considered as the best in FSU, it's not very varied after one week you get tired of katchapuri and shashliks.

Georgia is nonetheless a great destination to kick back for one week with an ukrainian girl. Flights are cheap from Kiev and there's many options (not only beach, there is also some wonderful historic mountain towns like Signagi) to spend an enjoyable stay. Tbilisi is a rather enjoyable city also, cullturally highly interesting.

Didn't realize that Georgians and Georgian food that common in Kiev. I thought they were Tatars from Crimea. I mean they do look the same, don't they?

Georgians and Tatars are two vastly different people. The Crimean Tatars, along with their Russian Tatarstan cousins are descendants of a Turkic people who were allied with the fearsome Mongol invaders of the Middle Ages.

Georgians, however, are from the Caucasus Mountain region that also includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Dagestan, Chechnya, Ossetia. Georgians and their fellow Caucasians are the swarthy types seen throughout the city. They also are considered by many locals to be undesirables, supposedly involved in dubious activities.

In order for me to whisk away a Ukrainian girl, I myself have tried to find a resort with a nice white sand beach with clear water and no seaweed in Europe, but my conclusion was that no such place exists in Europe. Sardinia came to the closest, but there was no resort by such a beach in Sardinia.

So please let me know if anyone here knows such a place in Europe.

Because I couldn't find such a place, I so far had to take the Ukrainian girls out of Europe to Maldives and Dominican Republic.

Macedonia?

I've been to 42 countries in Europe including Macedonia, but it does not strike me as a holiday destination. What is there to do for a holiday?

If your girl is into Orthodox icons, the Lake Ohrid area's icons are second only in importance to the Tretyakov Gallery's in Moscow.

But there is no beach in Macedonia to begin with, except beaches on lakes. I would say even Albania would make a better holiday destination than Macedonia, simply because Albania has beach resorts, right next to Montenegro.

There are some cheaper countries in Europe than Macedonia, such as Albania and Kosovo, so I'm not sure what the criteria is. Cheap but nice countries for holiday?

I've known this Kate's blog for a while, as I do something similar, and probably she simply hasn't been to cheaper countries.

I don't think there are budget flights from Kiev to Skopje. In the interest of research I've just done a quick search on flights from London and it came up with US $130 return on WizzAir. In June.

On booking.com, a 5 Star hotel about US $100,a one bedroom luxury apartment is US $40 a night.

Of course they would say that, wouldn't they " Absurdly affordable and refreshingly accommodating in equal measures, a trip to the Balkans that fails to take in Skopje isn't really a trip to the Balkans at all."urlreplacement0}.

I've done all of the Balkan countries except Macedonia &Albania.Quality&number of Hotels in Skopje look much better than what's available in Albania&Kosovo.

Skopje does look very tempting for a naughty long weekend, if not as a Holiday Destination.

Who would think Szczecin in Poland is a Sex Destination City?? In fact the best looking girls I met in Poland were in Szczecin, had a great time in the evenings on long weekends, but the city itself is just plain ugly. First time I heard of it was when RYANAIR started flying there.

Even cheaper than Georgia and far more exotic is Tunisia. Ukrainians also do not need a visa when the trip is organized by a travel agent. Monastir and the other resort areas also abound with Russian and Ukrainian tourist. It is warmer, it is the Mediterranean and not the Black Sea, and it is also not Egypt or Turkey, the other major holiday destinations.

Never been to Georgia or Macedonia but the sound bite is much more exotic and more of a Far Away sounding place than the well known holiday destination Tunisia. It depends where one is based at the time and who to take on holiday. But I agree with you Tunisia would tick all the right buttons especially getting at least a 4 star hotel inclusive holiday with all the booze included as well. It would work out so much cheaper as well.

Been there before on a family holiday and I managed once to slip away from my significant other&her Radar, used Lonely Planet guide to find LOL, The Red Light District in Souse. An experience to be tried but not for the faint-hearted.. . Can't speak French / Arabic I never managed to find the RLD in the capital Tunis as it was situated behind the alleys of the old city and I stood out as a foreigner from a distance, so I had to pass.

Found Tunisia very safe & clean. In fact I am thinking of taking a Houstonian ex Lap dancer to one of the resorts there for Rest & Recreation. She says, WOW North Africa. Of course she doesn't know its so cheap getting the Tunisia bargains from London.

Also How14 spends a lot of time in Thailand which is a visa on arrival country so he could also meet up with her on his prime hunting ground. That might crimp his style a bit but it is a guaranteed visit.

Yes Uke, I totally agree, this is one of the reasons I'm meeting this 22 year old, I want to see if she's "suitable" to accompany me to Thailand for 2-3 weeks, I do get a bit sick of Thai girls after a while, and its nice to have a Ukranian / Russian on the back of your motorbike etc, and you can still send her off for the odd massage while you go off and do a bit "short time" with a Thai beauty.

To summarize.

Montenegro, Macedonia, Georgia, all 3 countries do not require visas for Ukrainian Citizens.

Of the 3 countries I would choose Georgia simply on account of its beaches and the more varied attractions it does offer in comparison to Macedonia&Montenegro.Georgian Food is very tasty as well.

It is also as Cheap as Macedonia going by this link for the cost of Hotels& Restaurants.
