My assumption was that within few months spent with Ukrainian beauties YummyPL will pick up enough of Russian. Perhaps he already speaks well enough.

My Russian is quite poor but passable. I am actually working on my Ukrainian. I assume that they always think I am a sex tourist on first meeting, but the Ukrainian speaking should reinforce that I am living and working in Ukraine as I suspect it is significantly less common among casual visitors. 5% of infected end up dead in UK. IMHO that is high. Certainly not as high as Black Death in 1348-1350 that killed 30-45% in England, and up to 60% in Europe.

Iceland also has managed to avoid exponential rise, and NB not by closing the country (which would have been easy), but by extensive testing and isolating infected persons ASAP. And everybody who they had contacted earlier.

However, even I, as a native speaker, would be considered a sex tourist, if I stay for a few days. Language is a necessary but not sufficient condition in that mathematical system of equations.

And likewise, no arguing about the convenience of dealing with Semi-Pro ladies. Easy to arrange a meeting, especially when few solid providers are available& And subsequently easy to politely ask them to leave, when higher priority engagement comes up. I don't have a monobank card or any Ukrainian credit card. Can I send money this way with my foreign Visa card? My girlfriend has a monobank and a privat bank card. We have tried to send money card-to-card on internet but haven't figured out how.

Yes. You can send money with your foreign credit card. I tried Visa and Revolut (Virtual Mastercard). It is possible that your credit card company will ask you to confirm the transaction. But it works fine and very quick. The owner of the Monobank Card can send you a link via internet.

Kiev could be good for the next couple of months after the dust settles. Many girls that have left to other countries may return, because Kiev is cheaper. They will probably stay, save some money and leave the middle of the summer, then they will be gone again for better opportunities.

Why do you need Western Union. ? You can pay with mobile phone or credit card. Ukrainians are already happy if you don't pay with cash.

Payment for the girls. ? Send money card-to-card. It's very easy with a link in the internet (for example with the Monobank-Card).

Western Union still works for now but with a possible issue. There have been recent cases where the bank or kiosk did not have dollars or euros (or did not want to pay out in the required currency). Your recipient may have to accept the grivna equivalent or try other locations. Do note that a great many bank branches have closed and those open work with reduced hours.

Looks like the banks and the money agencies are trying to hold the foreign cash in order to hedge the risk of further grivna downturn. My landlord has been insisting that the rent was paid in US dollars for a while.
