I think it is better o to know the actual prices, in UAH of a few basic consumables (meals, sex, taxis, etc). Now, if you are planning to buy something (electronics for instance) that you plan to take back with you, and that you could also by at home, then, by all means calculate the price in USD or Euros before you buy.

I'm all with you here. And if you reread my post, you'll see that it's not about comparing price levels between Euroland and Ukraine, cause they are note realy comparable. But what's compareable is relative price movements. Especialy with things that are based on the same resources. Like petrol as the main cost factor for taxi.

Ukraine runs Thur. A heavy inflation, shown as raising prices and lowering exchange rates. The interesting part for mongers here is to use Euro (or USD) as benchmark to detect rip off prices (Not to compare between countries). If someone isn't ragular to Ukraine as you or me, he might read about 300 Griwna ladies and feel riped of when learning that he won't get near any doable female nowadays below 1000++.

Now when taking into account changging exchange tates (aka the droping UAH) he'll see that the equicalence of 50 USD still get you some cosy time. So prices in Ukraine regarding basic consumables (*G*) are rather stable. Same calculation works for taxi and similar goods.

That was fine like 3 years ago. Given, as a foreigner I may have to pay a premium, but the times of 30-50 Griwna runs are of the past. Not sure when you have been last time in Ukraine, but UAH has dropped quite low.

Until 2013 UAH / EUR was fairly stable around 1:10, a car ride within the city was anywhere between 20 and 50 UAH, depending on your haggling skills, so 2-5 Euro. Now it's more like 1:25 and prices have risen accordingly, so paying 100 UAH for a trip like Left Beach to Besarabsky is still about 4 EUR.

It's the same as with the girls. Even the 5's have way passed the 1200 Griwna scale by now.
