In exchange for cheaper Russian gas, and the mayority in "Antonov", one of the "Crown Jewels" of state enterprises in UA ?
Still more special agreements with Russia in the pipeline, as rumours tell.
The good aspect out of it: I am expecting visa requirements some time in the future. Then we come closer to the "Good old times" :-)

That being said, it does help to either -
A) Knowing basic Russian
B) Knowing somebody that knows both English and Russian/Ukrainian.

Visited (dance-disco-club) Avalon some time ago, not as hip as Arena, also not so much hip-hop-music, but several girls interested in getting to know you. Just beware of those hired by the club to first dance to you and then ask you for invitation to the restaurant downstairs! Also beware, Arena at Sunday night is hopless, and closes at 3 o'clock. Another type of club is Rio, next to the Opera House, table-dance, and after a lapdance you can ask the girl to come to your place for 2-3 hours, for perhaps 200 usdollar.

I would try Forsage myself. It hasn't been mentioned in this board I think.
I found it's a disco/dance club. A very nice dance club on ULITSA GARMATNA, I think.
Be sure to check out their gallery at forsageclub.com.ua
Hope that helps!

A BIT of research here before asking stupid questions would be a good start.
Other than that, I have been to Kiev 20 times but never posted anything but I promise to post something next time (!), i really, really do!

Going to Kiev for the second time. It will be exactly 1 year since my last trip. Didnt post a report from last time but will deff. add this trip. Read the board and a little bit hesitant on RP. I speak fluent Russian (w/ slight acent) and really enjoy the disco/club venues. Maybe I missed the suggestions here but other than Arena, where can I go for student type semi pros. What's the best approach?

Often the best experiences are when you least expect them and a $50 pro can be better than a $200 one, a cafe in a sidestreet better than a glam bar.
Too many people are hoping for the perfect solution, yet there are too many variables involved, not to mention the fact that things change all the time.
Can't blame the newbies for trying though, can we?

For all beginners: there is NO hotels or clubs or salons or agencies or magic places, wherever in the world, where a man could always find young and beautiful and piggy women.
Only with a long hard research and with a lot of luck, a man could actually find a good woman for himself, it doesn't depend on price but just on a long hard research and a lot of luck.
Please, stop asking for the best hotel or club or salon or agency because no place is magic. To find a worthy woman in places such as River Place or a hotel is much less probable to find a worthy woman on Kreschatik street!

Big advantage of apartments is the privacy, and the fact that girls, whether pros or regulars, generally feel more comfortable in a nice apartment.

Posts: 1178I have just come back from Kiev.
I like Kiev because I always get some new emotions or adventures (not only sex). I know Kiev enough and this time I got a very good ratio price/quality for my travel. The only bad remark is, in these last two years, Kiev has become dirtier and more polluted.
The global crisis in hitting the good part of economy, for example it is easier to negotiate with rent agencies and taxi drivers, but it is not hitting prostitutes very much or, better, it seems almost all professional prostitutes have disappeared.
I still saw the stupid behaviour of some foreigners, always ready to pay higher prices than their countries of origin: it sometimes seems the watchword is "River Palace is chic", yes that's chic as much as to pay 2000 euros for a Bulgari's plastic bag.

We can all go on and on as to which is the better option, a hotel or an apartment. Each has its attributes, each has its downside. My take is that either option is perfectly valid depending on the monger's personality.
Kiev is fun but the big problem for most guys is that there is just about zero English used on the streets or in public transport. It is a Russian/Ukrainian language based society and nothing you can do that will change that fact.
If you are someone who needs some assistance or hand-holding from the front desk or the tour bureau at the hotels or other local resources, then go for the hotel. They can suggest restaurants and make reservations, taxis are always available at the hotel, and lots of other positives can make your stay simpler. The biggest plus is obviously the availability of ladies in the lobbies or in the strip clubs that are attached to some hotels since they are always available for take away.
If you know some Russian or have traveled extensively and got by in other non-English language locales, then by all means the best choice is the apartment. That is not to say the apartment sales agent cannot help you but they are not always available as it would be at a hotel. The big pluses here is your complete privacy, no need to pay off the doormen, spend as much time at the hobby and with no prying eyes. It will also cost you far less than for a hotel room.
It all comes down to what is most comfortable for you individually.
