Fake is about right!. I cannot even imagine what would happen if Ukrainians were allowed into Europe- thousands of people looking for work in Germany and not finding it. Then they would just start stealing things like Poles and Romanians did ten years ago! I think everyone understands it. Even Ukrainians themselves.

Think Tanks by definition, think years ahead, and sometimes think the Unthinkable. Hence the name Think Tanks.

I did read it, mentioned in a Uk paper, but can't find it at the moment.

At Present Citizens of Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia, no longer require Schengen Visas for entry to the EU.

This became effective as from 19 Dec, 2009.

Albania & Bosnia, Herzgovina, will obtain the same status as of 15Dec 2010.

Ie in about 14 days time.

So if one of the poorest countries in Europe(Albania) will have its citizens travel visa free to the EU, then its very logical to assume that the Ukraine will follow the same route in the not too distant Future.

Bearing in mind the huge differences in terms of everyting between Ukraine & Albania.

The Test visas in 2012 for UA nationals you mentioned, maybe the first step in that direction. This is to coincide with Euro football held in UA & Poland.

Moldova is on the way as well, probably more so, given the recent General Elections results, with a victory to the Pro EU faction there.

The UA should have voted for Blondie& her party, if they wanted easier access to the EU.

For me as a selfish western Monger, pro EU parties are no good for my wallet mongering in the Ukraine

Thanks for the insight. I did some reasearch on the forum today, and you are absolutely 100% correct. I put the cart before the horse. I would have been insane to pay those prices. Especially after spending more time reading the forum/posts. I think I shall opt to stay at one of the hotels, and try the bar scenes. All I have booked for the moment is airfare, will make the rest up as I go. But will not be paying those prices.

If you could advise me on a decent hotel with a decent bar, I would greatly appreciate it. I have never been to Kiev before.
