Wasn't Russian TV also running with the story that Obama only got elected because the *majority* of Americans are black and therefore voted for him?

On the other hand, the younger generation is different. There are very few blacks in Ukraine but a far larger number in Russia, and from what I understand, they do pretty well with the dyevs.

Is Ukraine a safe place for a low-key non trouble causing brother. I am just a world traveling mongerer like yourselves and would like to sample in Ukraine. But i do know i stick out and the locals may not appreciate my presence. Whats the climate. I am prior mil and heard some horror stories about spots like manas kyrgistan.

Large numbers of Ukrainians are serious racists. It's hard to translate that into a guess about day-to-day safety walking down Kreshchatik, but I will tell a story.

A year ago, in Donetsk, I met the mother of a girl I was seeing. She sits at home most of the day and gets her view of the world from Russian language TV stations. (She also happens to be an expert on the lives of American celebrities). I tried to have a non-controversial discussion, something innocuous about me struggling to learn Russian.

She turned the conversation to the assertion that in the schools near them, the English teachers were just plain awful. She went on (in Russian, because she does not speak English) about how STUPID and IGNORANT the guy was teaching at their school. I asked what this guy did, how she knew he was so stupid, and whether any Americans taught there, and she said "That's what I'm trying to tell you. The teacher IS an American and he's BLACK. "

I tried to tell her that there was this black guy in the US who was pretty articulate, speaks the language well, Harvard Law School, and he might become president of the United States. She told me flatly that I was out of my mind.

I tried to agree with you about something, but it seems you understand only what you want. You are very easy to argue for every small thing!

I like to speak honestly with myself and with everybody. I know most people don't want to see the real world.

I see men's behaviour in Ukraine and outside Ukraine, and I know what women really think, in East and West. I know that because some women said that to me.

There are two kinds of men: the self-illusioners and the sex-addicted. If you think women's brain want "love", then you are in the first kind. Me, I can say to fight the second kind of men, they are the largest quantity and the most incredible liars. Therefore you have no right to insult me!

About women's brain, they, all and everybody, want something material, at the end.

Ukrainians like to talk about "the poor little girl" story, I knew some of those girls, someone needs a temporary boyfriend, someone else needs a trendy guy, someone else needs a carpet man for her children (with previous husband), someone else needs a Western passport (oh my god, how many), someone else needs just fun (by your own sweated money), etc.

I, like a lot of "naive" men in the world, want a real feeling, maybe friendship, maybe relationship. I don't like this talk about respect! It has been repeated again and again by some guys that you deserve respect. What do you deserve respect for? Because of your excellent brains?
