From a line in an old joke I once heard, "Not exactly what I had in mind but I like the way you think." This does actually work well in Beijing where there are a couple of online forums (in English) where one can post they seek an interpreter/traveling companion and vice versa. Invariably, the girls are really seeking a husband and the two I found did make excellent traveling companions. I guess Mamba is the closest I've seen for Kiev.

I have been trying to use Mamba for the last couple of evenings in an attempt to line up some talent for an upcoming trip without much success. I am thinking that it must be me, that I have no "game" for striking up a conversation. I will see a profile that I like (something that takes some time) and will send a message, with something simple like, "I saw your profile and would like to learn more about you" or "your photos are amazing" or "I am coming to Kiev soon on business and would like to meet you". What do I get in return? Nothing! Almost nothing. Once I got a return message that said, "I kiss him" and it ended there and one other time, I got a price list. Sure, the price list is nice to know, but I would like something a little more than that as I am not opposed to setting up a sponsor situation. So, a little frustrated, I am turning to you, the experienced fishermen out there, for some tips and hints on how to make Mamba work.

Totally agree Cruiser, but I've never really had any stand-out sessions with girls from RP (maybe that's my own faulty selection process though), whereas with girls I've either met through Mamba, or just out and about in the city have been much more fun.

I'll be in Kiev in a couple of weeks and don't know Russian yet alone Ukrainian. My language skills suck so a crash course is out of the question. Does anyone have an electronic translator they can recommend? The reviews of most I've seen (like Franklin and Lingo) say they have built in words and phrases and one cannot type in their own sentence. I know it sounds like a stupid question but any suggestions are appreciated.

By the way, I'll be in Kiev July 20-28. Anyone that is there during that time that wants to get together for a drink send a PM.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, the visibility of my work keeps me from approaching the girls I meet and get to know every day. Hence the idea of finding someone outside Kyiv who would come here.

A night together...then even payments every day, so 95% of the money would go to a girl I had not only met but slept with. Are you out of your mind, 2k-2.5K for someone from Krivoy Rog or any other region that you have never met? I would start from $1,000 per month at best (and probably try for less) even if I met the girl and if she stayed with me for the month.

If you live here, you know all is negotiable. Even the vegetables. Women are always subject to negotiation. For you to pay high end prices for low end product is simply unacceptable. Try and not make it worse for the rest of us here.

If you must, conduct an experiment. Send some messages out with $500, others with $800, other with other varying amounts and see what happens. Then report results to us.

There should be a 100% successrate, in case of careful selection.
I am just trying something similar, with a girl (7-8) from Zap, but only for one week in Crimea, end of this month, 500$. Found her on singles.
But she does not speak English; I have basic knowledge of Russian.
I will go to Zap before, for a one-night-stand. I want to see her in real life first, and I really doubt, that a girl would spend own money for a trip to a totally stranger, who even might be a "Godzilla".

I don't think I'm the dumbest guy on the forum...on the other hand, if I have a brilliant idea I don't think I'm likely to be the first. So let me ask for reactions to this approach which I have seen discussed.

Background: I live in Kiev and I'm 57 years old.

Since I have absolutely zero interest or tolerance for night clubs, and since I am losing patience with the Mamba approach (make lots of dates, send endless messages, and few of the girls actually show up), I am thinking to invite a girl from someplace like Krivoy Rog to come to Kyiv for a month. Which girl? Well, I would write to several dozen on Mamba/Singles.

In principle, this avoids several problems. The girl does not have an excuse to ask me to send passport, visa and airline money in advance. Nor will she likely send fifteen emails making me think she is interested and waiting for me to propose fifteen successive times and places to meet.

If she actually comes to Kyiv, then she has more invested in the encounter than I do on day one. She has the incentive to make it work, and to send a decent photo since she will not just get back in the taxi and go home.

So comments?

More difficult in provinces.

To have plan A, B, C works in Kiev where there are opportunities.
In provinces you just get one chance.

If you fail in one city in province you have to change city immediately.

In province it is high risk of failure and high rewards.

In Kiev much more expensive lower risk of failure but lower rewards relatively to money spent.

In province I had two girls in room by spending just 50 euro every day(total expenses).

For p4p 300 euro per day in Kiev.
In province for the same 150 euro.

Too high risk to fail for the inexperienced traveller.

Province is good only for the experienced and fast monger who speaks Russian and prefers being on budget.

Heck old boy. I want to say your experience, while not questionable, leaves this reader with just too many YMMV-isms to stand unchallenged, and the variations in mileage can be quite wide.

Everything I refer to will be about big city experiences that did NOT happen in the capital of Ukraine.

Now maybe for you, the "provinces" mean rural village life, or big towns, but for me, it just means not in Kyiv, because 94% of all Ukrainians (46 million) don't live in Kiev, and that's a lot of pizda!

Let's consider that by using 2 cell phones with different names, I NEVER had a single day with just one chance. Once I had a girl trying to find BOTH of me at the same time, and as we were trying to find each other while she was only half a block away from me trying to tell me exactly where she was waiting, in Russian that I couldn't quite understand, when I saw her and realized it was the same girl calling me on both phones that I hadn't even met yet, already trying to two-time me with my other me, I nearly shit my pants from laughing so hard at the absurdity of trying squeeze together too many first meetings too much too fast.

Fail and have to immediately change to another city?? I failed several times every day, and never even considered changing. (Ok, that part's not true, after multiple failures, I get very strong urges to get my nerve up to run off to the next city that's even harder to learn). Even after 3 weeks, on the train back to Kiev, I'm getting new sms from girlfriends of girlfriends I'd never met asking for a first meeting. It was all I could do, to not jump off the fucking train and run back.

50 euro a day total expense including 2 girls?? My apartment alone costs more than 50 euro. And if you want especially 19 yrs student from technical institutes moonlighting with escort agency, its $70 to $90 per hour, and that's only gonna get you the most basic quickie 20 minute hurry up service. If you want the all out GFE, expect to donate up to $150 to $200 per tart for 2 hour fuckfest. (But yes of course, the prices then go down, the more she returns to see you again)

I suppose I could get 2 girls for 50 euro in the provinces back in 1995, or maybe 2 women age 35, but not anything hot today.

My very first trip, back when I was actually going to find a wife, the girl from the marriage agency magazine that I went all the way out there to meet, after 2 days, I knew she was NOT for me, so I told her so, and she told me to go to hell. I had already paid for an apartment for 10 days. I did not know ANYONE, so I thought, I guess I should just leave and go back to Kiev. Then I said, fuck it. Why should I leave? I'll just meet new people, take a chance. What did I have to lose? I didn't even need balls for that. Just stubborn determination.

When you are planning to meet a specific girl in Ukraine, you need to have a Plan B and Plan C - in case girl A is not as billed, does not work out, or simply does not show up. All these things happen. So you actually need to arrange to meet 3 girls (or more) and juggle them until you find one that pleases you (or keep juggling them, if you have that much energy). There are dozens of things that can go wrong with even a well-planned arrangement, not the least of which is the girl getting cold feet.

The other thing, about spending the 150 Euros without knowing it, is the "burn rate" for going through money in eastern Europe is incredible.
