From Tuesday till Monday I think travel time is long enough. I hope they don't change the pandemy rules till I go.
They changed the rules late August. That sucked. An SA girl I was seeing since June ended up getting engaged before I came back again. She was nice a newbie, one guy decided to take her off the market. A real barbie. Might even be one of you lucky old farts.

    Kiev visit

Last visit was the week after Thanksgiving but for only a couple days unfortunately. SA like many have said is hit or miss. This visit was more of a hit.

SA 1- Met an young American girl studying in Ukraine. Strange place to decide to do study abroad. Certainly a newbie because we spent 2 days today and she never once mentioned money. Possibly too drunk to remember. She lived down the street from where I was staying near Gulliver.

SA 2 - A newly turned 18 year old who was a friend of another girl I had seen on my last visit in September. We only spent a few hours together as I was super jetlagged, and we smoked weed together and I was too high to stay awake. 2000 hry. Ran out of condoms so ended up hitting it raw. Not too smart I know. I'm trying to get her to bring some new friends from college over next time I come later this month. She's trying to get me to fly her on a trip but not that interested. She's been sending me the instagram of her friends and letting me choose.

Speaking of IG. That used to be my primary source to find these hidden gems of Kiev but lately I need to message 10+ girls just to get a response so that well has dried up. However IG game is still excellent in Minsk. Which for those who know this is untapped well. Not nearly as saturated as Kiev / Odessa with these greedy hoes. Currently dating 2 girls from Minsk 1 a 20 year old who modeled in China / Korea prior to pandemic and another who is modeled in Moscow but now in Turkey. Good luck getting someone like this off IG in Kiev But I will do some ig spamming before I come later in the month. Got a couple I'm pipelining on SA.

If its the case, as far as I have read there is not much of issues in Kiev, when you return in UK, as per law there is a quarantine requirement of 15 days, seems that is now 10!

Either way, you can get a PCR test from any boots or some private clinics who will charge you between 100 - 150.

If you experience any of the listed COVID symptoms! (can be), then the NHS will do a free PCR test and update you the results.

Finally, you are anyway talking a insurance covering COVID, (a listed insurance company in Ukraine) that covers any of your issues in Ukraine.
Yes, I live in the UK.

I thought was possible to do the test in Kyiv and avoid quarantine in the UK, but as I can see is not possible, and I don't want to spend 100/150 £ for a test! I rather spend that money for a duo of Ukrainian girls in Kyiv for a couple of hours.

Well, it means I will stay put and wait better times.

If the waiting times are not to long and price is fair, I can considerate a trip to Kiev, but is going to be just for a long weekend, so the waiting time for the PCR result should fit in it.

Unfortunately, if you are planning a trip to Ukraine in January, the joke will be on you. We will be heading into at least a three-week modified lock down beginning the day after the Orthodox Christmas, on January 8 and extending until January 25.

Here are two links, in Russian, explaining the details: https://korrespondent.net/ukraine/43...noho-karantyna and https://korrespondent.net/ukraine/43...noho-karantyna.

In a nutshell, here are the basic rules: cafes, bars and restaurants (except for delivery or take-out), non-food stores, cinemas, sports clubs, shopping malls, with the exception of food, hygiene products, veterinary products, all schools will be closed and any cultural and public events are prohibited. At the same time, public transport, grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, post offices will continue to work. However, the government has also said it can also impose stricter measures if these conditions fail to stem the increase of those getting sick from COVID-19.

Given that this lock down does not cover the very major New Year and Christmas holidays when huge amounts of partying goes on, while this is a compromise the government made, it may also end up to be their pact with the devil now known as COVID-19. No vaccines will get here until at least March, or later, for most of the willing and at last count, almost half the population would not agree to any vaccination.

Travel in and out of the country will not be prohibited as was the case in September but will be subject to the red zone / green zone rules. Hotels will be open but not hostels.

After getting out of airport, I still installed the app, went to hospital to get tested, but it required local number and I only had my US phone number. After all struggle I gave up. There was no check while leaving the country either. This whole scheme of tracking thru app is bonkers with so many holes.
Add a 1 to your number and Verizon travel pass will allow the app to send you text alerts to verify identity.

    Good example.

    Do not enter 456-xxxx324.

    Enter 1456-xxxx324.

App support was actually one of the few things I was shocked by here. I had issues with photo verification etc and even had a problem getting my airport test verified. Someone from a government email spent two days coordinating with me so I could leave my apartment get retested get my phone number fixed and entered properly and had my tests updated within system by 7 AM next business day.

Visit Ukraine is solid for Covid insurance but everything considered if you think your going to be okay if you get to the level where you need a ventilator let's be honest. It's 50% 50% survival rate in the US and I've heard first hand about the limitations of the public hospitals here in Kyiv let alone elsewhere. Your giving up superior medical care in the US.

That's the least of my worries but in my opinion overthinking insurance past compliance is ridiculous. It's a band aid for a gunshot wound.

www.oberig-sg.com is another acceptable source of insurance. Same price for all ages up to age 80, whereas some companies don't accept applicants age 60 and up. Once you get past the first page (click on Онлайн медстраховка иностранцев
для въезда в Украину, which means medical insurance for foreigners entering Ukraine) there is an option for English language version.

Upon arrival immigration wanted to see the printed copy of the insurance I purchased and did way more than just a glance at it. But I arrived the first day after the lockdown ended. So maybe it's more relaxed now.
The insurance through that website is less than €2 per day on average, and when I was there recently they inspected my printout very thoroughly. If you are there for a week, for the sake of €14, why not just buy though the site rather than risking problems on arrival?

    From the Visit Ukraine Site:

    (3. 3 Euro for 3 days of stay + 0. 80 EUR for each subsequent day.) +8% for service.
