I don't agree. When in their own small town, some girls get nervous about getting seen by friends etc. and conservative... and they always have the option of sleeping at home or with mom and dad... and without you.

Unless it is some sort of serious love relations, it is better to bring a girl to your place on your terms.

No point in going to Odessa. Wherever you go she expects you to cover her travel expenses, and Odessa isn't that much cheaper. In Kiev you should stay close to the centre, as a stranger you must depend on taxis to a considereable degree.

And even with a budget of 900 euros you should stay maximum one week! A studio apartment will set you back close to 50 euros a day, so in a week you burn maybe 300 there. Then you have 600 left. Transport to and from airport costs. Then a lunch/dinner will each set you back 30 euros, that is 60 euros a day. MacDonalds is acceptable maybe once! Breakfast you make yourself after shopping at the supermarket. Taxis cost, but not much if you have a local girl to do the talking. But she wants more: you stop to have a drink, a coffee. And you cannot expect her to stay in the apartment to fuck all the time. Maybe a club? Entrance and drinks cost. Suddenly she hasn't proper winter boots! And you are expected to buy! One week on 900 is doable. But freebies may in the long run be VERY expensive! If you are too cheap she is suddenly back in east Ukraine before you know it, she will "get a call" from home: "grandmother is close to dying"! And she expects you to pay for her trip back. And as a gentleman you should pay: after all you invited her and she has much less money than what you have! And you cannot know if grandmother is dying or not!

There is another thing: if you don't really click, then one week with a girl you didn't meet before can end up being a very long time!

It is now 1:20 am. My student/model girl just left. She was busy all day at university. At 6 pm she called and said she was home and would come very soon. I write this to continue the discussion about Ukraine girls and what they are after. Yes, I have had my share of gold diggers, or girls who needed some money for whatever, and lots of possibilities for sponsorship. And I have been taken to too expensive restaurants and they wanted the most expensive drinks and food! This girl is not! She is not from Kiev, but moved here to study; I think that is important. Why do I write this? Because I want to say that Ukraine girls are better than what usually is expressed in this forum. We are too cynical about Ukraine girls in general! The basic problem is that you are going in the dead of winter. In summer you can entertain her with long romantic walks. And after a long walk you have the perfect excuse to give her a foot massage

I think some people read statistics about Ukrainian poverty and just figure that it's what they expect from people. Ukrainians don't fantasize about guys from the US/EU because they like our accents - they, like all young women, want to be swept off their feet. 600 euros for 2 weeks is ridiculous. Most normal people in the West make that in a week - let alone people that travel internationally. I have spent less in Ukraine in 2 weeks, but I've been on visa trips. Lvov Hotel in Lviv, for example, costs about 15 euros/night, but you've got to turn the hot water on an hour in advance if you want to have a hot shower, and the elevator doesn't go to the 6th floor - you have to go to the 7th floor and walk down. Like Chris Rock says, 'you can do it but that don't mean it's to be done'.

You've got to figure on budgeting at least 80 bucks a night to rent a flat in Kiev, or 100 for a modest central hotel.
