I know this may seem hard to believe but over the recent holidays there wasn't very many girls working at the apartments. Many girls traveled home to be with their friends and family or simply just took time off from working. I did visit one apartment in particular that only had three ladies working. The female manager or administrator was surprisingly very attractive & after not selecting any of the available ladies, I jokingly asked if she was available. She hesitated at first but then responded if I waited an hour & she also quoted an additional 1000 uah that she could be available. I gave her my number and address and one hour later she showed up at my apartment in a taxi. If not, the money for the flight is gone. But more so, the opportunity for the girl to meet a (often very rich) man is gone. So why would she? She can also take the flight, and try to sneak out on arrival to meet somebody else or just do what she wants to do in Dubai. Again, she also misses an opportunity.

There is one possible alert topic: sometimes girls claim they live in cities like Cherkasy or Poltava, which means they have to travel to Kiev for the flight. There used to be a scheme like this: on the day of departure they would send a text about having missed their bus, so they needed a taxi to get to the airport in time - "Can you send 200 $ now otherwise I will not reach the airport?" So if you ever book a ticket make sure it is clear how she gets to the airport.

But in general this is a pretty safe bet. I have had several girls come to me over the years, never any problem. I live in Western Europe, though, but don't think Dubai will be any different.

Local transport is one scam, they may ask you for the money to apply for passport or Visa. I don't think they will come over if you give the money before arrival.

First of all you made her feel special and she was attracted to you, otherwise nothing would have happened. The rest is secondary- maybe she was available for extra 3-4 hours, maybe she needed extra cash for her boyfriend, maybe maybe maybe. Life is great!

Completely correct, I have been chatting for several months with many Ukrainian girls who us the travel girls site. Some of them have shown me the actual offers that they get on a daily basis from multiple man. 5 star hotel in Paris for weekend, 2 days = 2000 euro given to them. She is a good looking girl, not model material, but attractive. The going rate for her better looking friend is 10000 euro a week in Dubai. Although she is gorgeous.

I went to Kiev to see what the obsession was all about, and I did not find it. Its a carefully planned illusion due to the fact we are inundated with photoshop pictures everywhere we look, yes the women are tall, yes they wear high heel everywhere, yes, they spend hours getting ready, yes they are skinny, yes they have high cheek bones. These are the positives..

Just a thought: you might be better off spending a little more than 6 months there, so you can avoid being a "resident" of Canada" and paying high taxes.

These things can play out in different ways. I've been asked how much I would give if she came back to my apartment. At that point I asked if it was for sex. I brought back two sisters once from the street. Money was never mentioned. They knew I would give them something.

They may have worked as providers before and got promoted. Some had enough, or found a sponsor / male partner, maybe enforcer, or protection above them. They have no other skills, but know this business inside-out. Therefore that's their only possible employment.

In 2013 I had an 18 yo staying with me for free for 3 days. She was already quite experienced and rather industrious. Explained to me a few concepts in this business. Categories of ladies, pay grades, "bases" distributed throughout the city where providers wait for calls to jump into a car for on-site delivery, etc. She wanted to get a "base" of her own, apparently that's another step in the hierarchy.

I was stolen a few hundred dollars this evening when walking in a underpass on K street. A girl (dirty, seems 10 YO or so) approached me from left (while my pocket with money in it on the right) and asked me 'gde metro' (where is the metro). I told her and she walked away. She was suspicious and I realised there were something wrong. I checked my pocket and my money was gone. I still have no idea how could they know there was money in my right side pocket and steal it without being noticed, but it seems they are professional thieves and target foreign dudes in the city centre. Perhaps at that moment I was too relaxed after sex and wasn't alert enough.

It was my first ever known experience of being stolen in my life so far. The stolen money itself isn't a big deal for me since I have more than sufficient funds, but it is my stupidity that annoys me in this incident. I didn't call the police since I knew its useless, plus after a good sex I wanted to go back to my hotel to have some rest. Hope you gentlemen could be more cautious with your cash, phones, passports, etc while in Kiev. Remember you are in one of the poorest capitals in Europe.

When I was a young student in Berlin there were people who studied German literature or American literature or any such (some were studying Finno-Hungarian literature). And then there were some who studied AVL (basically something like Literature in general and in global comparison). This entry is truly AVL. Great insight and observation, and so different from all the cheap lamenting about Kyiv, which is still awesome.

Tried to find the meaning of AVL acronym in English, and then somehow the word "Allgemeine" from German High-School class popped up!

After reading our Forum, I can't agree more with globally applicable approach to stop whining and start enjoying life, that Bill1963 laid out few posts below. Seems like he has no doubts, thus confirming multiple years of experience of my friends, already relocated or residing in Kiev.
