If you are young and pretty you can pick up girls in both places. If you are not so young and pretty but have some cash, I would imagine UKR is better. I know it's bad form to start off in a forum by seeking advice, but I promise a detailed trip report when done. I'm planning a 10 day trip to Kiev between August 21 and September 1. It takes a bit of work as you can't put in a lot of search criteria, but if you are willing to work on it you can mine it for interesting profiles. When looking at the profile of the girl you can see if they are stating they would like someone to pay for them or if they are planning to split the cost. Just because they say they are willing to split the cost, do not discount them. Most of them will be very willing to let you pay for things, once they get comfortable with you. Also in their main profile, unless they specifically say "not looking for sponsor" then I take that to mean "Yes, I'll listen to reasonable offers".

Here is something that I think is really important. In your own profile, and when you contact the girl, make it clear that you are travelling to Kiev and you will have the opportunity to meet there, before any other trips. That should work in your favor as they will feel more comfortable with an initial meeting in their own city.

As someone else said, if you put a reasonable amount of effort into this you will be successful. It is hard to really comprehend the number of attractive ladies there and then of that number, the number of those who would be willing to be sponsored and have travel opportunities. Do not be afraid to contact 20 ladies whose profiles you like with an initial message on Mamba. And also remember to not fall in love with a profile and really get attached to it or to a girl because of the pictures and then start discounting other profiles. You might meet and find the pictures are 8 years old, she's put on 20 pounds, changed her hair color and hair style to one you don't like, or she's bat shit crazy. Of the 20 contacts say 15 do not respond. Fine, put them in a folder so you know you've already tried them and they weren't interested. This isn't the West, there's no playing hard to get, and you don't need to try to chase after them. If they are interested they will respond. This is an opportunity for them. I hate to sound crass, but it really is a buyer's market and you're the one with the cash.

So you've got 5 responses. See how you feel about them, but again, don't get overly attached to any one. Now you're saying "Gee, you said I would be successful" Yes, because you're still going to have some that actually do meet you, that aren't totally crazy (all women are crazy to some degree), that look great and that you'll enjoy spending time with.

Here's the last thing. Use tact and good manners, but make sure you let them know what you are expecting out of the deal. If they start acting like they are shocked and offended that you are expecting sex to be a part of the travel, then they are screwing with you. They all know how the game works. Ukrainian women are going to be more direct and open.

And finally, here's the great thing about Kiev. Even if everything thing you've done on Mamba goes tits up when you get there, if you've read the last six months of posts on this forum, you've got a list of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and other places where you can meet women. You speak some Russian, heck walking down the street, in stores, where ever, if you see an attractive lady that you can get to make eye contact and give you even a hint of a smile, speak with her. You literally can't walk down a street there without tripping over pretty women. And you will find some that see you as an opportunity. Maybe just to make her dull day a bit more interesting, maybe to get a night out and a nice meal, but also maybe to pursue a relationship, travel etc.

However, I've heard reports of crime rising as police presence on the streets has waned, but I've been in many different parts of the city at different times of day and night and have had no problems. Just don't go speaking English at the top of your voice in Vokzalna at 2 am.
