As the title indicates. How foolish would a western guy be alone at a club or bar if he doesn't want to dance? Do the high end ladies come up to you anyway?

Why is that a problem? I almost never dance. Last time I found two freebees at the bar. We had a great lough of the 50 yo turks trying to impress girls with "amzing" danceing moves. After few hours of drinking I took one of them home.

It depends of your age. It is unusual to see a 20 year old boy standing alone in a disco without dancing. If you are 40 it's ok, but it's unusual to see a 40 years old guy having this kind of doubt.

But 700 UAH per month for 7 - 22? That's $60. My premium gym in California charges $30 per month for 5 - 24.

BTW, can gym be a good place to hunt?

Most of the gyms in Kiev have yearly memberships, but they are equatable to NYC / California Bally's / NYSC type gyms so expect upper class (I. E. , more expensive) cost, especially al carte options like sauna, spa, massages, etc. But of course their would be more coed options, Timur is more if you just want to focus on weights or cardio in peace, plus for me it is about a 10 minute walk from where I am staying.

Here are some links with listings of fitness clubs in Kiev, just be sure to check they are still open and offering what you want. Some apparently offer deals, I would assume especially in July and August, but those might be for long term commitments. I paid for a variety of research for gyms, LASIK and dental before I visited Kiev just to save me time, but it was focused on Podil area for the gym requirements for myself.

As for hunting at a gym, the higher priced clubs will probably offer coed classes, but just like the higher priced pickup joints you will find prices rise to adjust for image (I. E. , if you are working out in a fancy place you will be seen as having $ to burn), plus for the best results you might want to take a strip class, but that might be strange. If you go to a gym on the Left Bank (east side of river) you might find better deals and regular local girls, but then again they might be more interested in their workout than flirting.

I am here in Kiev for the month of July and am residing in the Podil area, I am using the Timur Gym, simple weight rooms and cardio as well as area for sport classes, sauna and massage. They offer monthly, 3 month, 6 month and yearly cost based upon access hours.

I have the Gold membership for 1 month which is 595 Ukrainian and the hours I can use the gym are from 7:00 - 17:00. Silver is 450 Ukrainian and the hours of use is 12:00 - 15:00. Platinum cost 695 and the hours are 7:00 - 22:00. Be aware that the hours of the gym are: Monday-Friday 7:00 - 22:00 and Saturday. Sunday 8:00 - 21:00. For the Gold membership I also get a trainer to help show me the initial working of the machines just so I do not hurt myself, but they also offer a personal trainer based upon hourly charge. They have at least 1 English speaking trainer that I know off.

4th floor walkup, watch out for the raised floors in the gym or you might stub your toe badly. Here is the website link:

Gave not been to Hydropark, but with the weather in July averaging low 80 F temperatures and the Crimea beach areas being off limits I would assume more people flooding at Hydropark and the surrounding area just to relax, do expect the free weight area in Hydropark to be used more heavily as well as more eye candy in swimwear in that area.

Ironically my landlord has a brother who operates a dance studio not too far from Timur gym, he took me to the studio, which was hot since it is just below street level, they also have classes for girls, I saw a couple just quickly, pretty.

I am in Kiev for the month of July and like you not really a dancer, so I know what you are talking about, I have yet to head out to the dance clubs but will be testing the waters as a single gent this week maybe. If you are in Kiev and want to have a wingman in the same situation as you PM me and we can set up a night to try our luck.

Based upon what little info I have Shooters, Rhino Strip club and maybe Disco Radio Hall are your best bets for non dancers.

I have mixed feelings about this: What kind of an a-hole would copy a post from 2 years ago and make it sound like its his own genuine contribution? Saddo of the worst possible kind.

The only saving grace is that reading the original posting was very informative and gave a real historical perspective on how the scene in Kiev used to be in the good old days. So it was interesting academically.

But I am not on ISG because I am a frigging historian and neither are most bloggers so please keep the old crap for yourself as none of us want your regurgitated fertiliser (we have enough of our own).

What we need and share are rays of light shun on the current scene.

I hope the administrator sees fit to block that hideous fertiliser manufacturer.

I've had the pleasure with both them girls last year before the conflict, me and my mate done them for $80 each with a switchover after an hour, very energetic but a bit nutty, glad to get rid of them in the end.
