An American buddy of mine who has been living in Kyiv for seven years sent me a warning this evening. He said he was chatting with a student aged woman on mamba last night and they agreed to meet for a few hours at his flat for 800 UAH. As he is not new to the scene here in Kyiv, he told her his building address but was careful not to tell her his apartment number. Like me, he prefers to meet her outside of his building to make sure she looks like her photos and everything is on the level. Well, she called and informed him she had arrived and was waiting outside of his building. When he went out to meet her he was greeted by two men who immediately confronted him and, in broken English, demanded money from him or they'd beat him. There was no sight of the woman. However, my buddy speaks impressive Russian and started to not only threaten to call the police but to call some contacts he had in the government who'd be happy to assist him (none of it true). The men were taken aback by this and gave him enough space to successfully separate himself from them and hurry to the street where there were plenty of people about.

I asked him to forward me her mamba profile. When I contacted her about it she blocked me immediately. She has since changed her location from Kyiv to Zhitomir:

In Kyiv right now there is a serious lack of police presence. I recall during my trip to Kyiv in 2010 there were police everywhere. Not so much now. In truth the police are nearly useless anyway. Mongers must be aware of the current situation in Kyiv and Ukraine.

This is good advice. Shakedowns are to be expected with lack of law enforcement. I recommend watching your building from the outside to do some recon. Never give out your apartment number.

Just back from a week in UA. Kiev had less visitors than normal according to my friends. Looked pretty slow in restaurants. Had no problems anywhere. I only visit clubs to get hammered with mates and had no time for this, so can not comment on this scene.

All in all I had great fun in Kiev. I rely on girlfriends, friends and friends of friends. Had way more poonani lined up than I could ever juggle. Several disappointed candidates again. Thank God for failing cell phone networks to blame for not managing to get in touch as agreed.

Left Kiev after two nights with an acing see*ck, knowing that my (next) GF would silently wonder what "work" I did in Kiev when she had Barba pounding her doggy for 30 minutes without shooting his load.

Thank you for your input. I do watch RT videos at times but I realize the channel is financed by the Russian government. I do not find RT programs entirely impartial. The parts of this video that I watched, I found the presentation so very one sided that it loses a certainly amount of credibility. I loved the theatrics and the editing though which helps convince the audience to a certain point of view. I certainly would not consider this work as untrue but I would describe it as selective truth. It is refreshing to see so many interviewed on the Russian side without guns and so very peaceful

One of the things I do not take for granted is our ability to select what we read, watch, listen to and want to believe. May there be peace for all Ukrainians.

In Ukraine? The situation is violent, unpredictable and unstable. Be very careful where you are deciding to travel to. The further West the better if you want to avoid conflict. What is more, May 9 and May 25 are two dates you must be aware of. These are politically significant dates here in Ukraine. I would avoid being in and around large public venues on these two dates. I for one will be happily retreating to my apartment far from the center with a bottle of cognac, a Hemingway novel and my favorite piece of ass on these two dates. At the moment Kyiv is quite quiet and relaxed, but my experiences here tell me the situation can change quickly and dramatically. Others might disagree but I think I've assessed the situation here accurately.

I just got back from a few days in Kiev, the place was unusually quite for this time of year, clubs mostly empty, the days of having to beg and grovel to get into the VIP area are well gone, VIP was empty, but prices haven't dropped, unless the charges are in Hryvna.

I spent a lot of time walking and felt very safe, during the day Maiden square is a tourist attraction, seen many Ukrainians being photographed against the Maiden backdrop.

Having said that, as others have warned things can get ugly very fast, so one needs to be aware of the potential risks, I also don't know what the situation is if one needed assistance from the police, hospital or other government services. It is very possible that unrest could flare up within a very short time, and possible shutting down the airport, main routes and makes it too risky to travel outside ones apartment.

On the other hand the choice of girls is great, so good time to visit Kiev, as long as you are aware of the potential risks.

I was talking to a friend of mine that visits Kiev for work. He said that ever since its become obvious the East will fall into a Russian orbit, you can actually feel the bad vibe girls are giving off towards foreigners.
