Rio use to be good years back but now it's just a ripoff. I find it interesting that nobody on this thread has ever mentioned the truth about the place. All the girls are prostitutes but they are actually selective as to who they see. Hot ones that speak no English almost always tell management they will not see foreigners. It's kind of weird, but in their mind, they are not prostitutes. If they feel it will not be a boyfriend experience, they will not do business with you. It can be a kick in the stomach that a prostitute has declined your offer of ridiculous money.

Some people just have this idea that they have to pay everyone extras and extras to the extras, to get proper service. Investment in future visits is often mentioned as a major cause, but they normally have no reference group to compare what service they would get without this payment for the "future service". In my country we never tip anyone except children who sells us cookies for school trips.

I am quite modest in my tipping in Ukraine. Never to people who just service me in a way I would expect. 10% on the bill at most normally, and that's it. But then again, I never visited Rio after my one stop a couple a years ago. Strip clubs are just not that high on my list of entertainment.

I always tip when I leave, as I do in restaurants. But this is because the managers already know who I am and that I will be tipping them eventually. I have never failed to do so.

However, if one is new to a club or venue, and the employees do not know who you are, of course it makes sense to establish your bonafides as a generous guy deserving of their attentions, by giving a nice tip as you come in. Then they know right away that you are a "player".

I think it is going quite overboard and entirely unnecessary to tip all of the managers in the club, regardless of whether they assisted you that evening or not. Doubtless, they would accept a tip with a smile, but in normal business the club employees who did not interact with you and assist you that evening would not have any legitimate basis to expect a tip from you.

Of course, if you move around in the club, and you sat for a while in the downstairs bar, and the manager in charge there assisted you, and then you asked to be seated in the upstairs inner lounge, or in the VIP lounge, because you wanted to see the line-ups there, and then you went upstairs and were assisted by a different manager in the upstairs lounge or the VIP lounge where you transferred to, then in that case, when you left the club, if you not only tipped the last manager who assisted you, but you also went back downstairs and sought out the manager who initially assisted you and gave him a tip and a warm handshake and a smile, obviously he will feel appreciated by you, and will be sure to remember you as a classy and generous guy, and you will be sure to get attention from him and good service from him, the next time you show up. Such gentlemanly, considerate and thoughtful conduct is always well-remembered.

And so, if in the lounge you are sitting in, there are actually more than one manager, and you interact with both of them, but one assisted you more, or one you know from before and the other is new to you, I suppose in the interests of not creating feelings of being slighted by tipping one manager and not the other, right in front of each other, you should probably tip both, or you could at least wait until the other one is not around, and then leave the club, tipping the one who is there at the time.

But walking around the club tipping managers who did not assist you isn't expected at all. Of course, if you are possessed to do stuff like that, then certainly you will be remembered well at the club and get good service. But you would have gotten that anyways, if you just tipped the managers who assisted you.

During a visit, the assistance needed could be continuous, as you need the manager's attentiveness as the girls on stage keep changing, to tell you stuff about each set of girls, such as what is the name of each girl you are interested in, whether they speak English, whether they go out with customers, and to go over to the girl and ask her to come sit with you. Sometimes, when the manager is preoccupied with other customers or stepped away, you can ask the waitresses for the names of girls, and you could also get up out of your seat and approach the stage and speak a few words directly to the girl. But for the most part you need the manager's help with these types of things. So you want him to be continuously be looking your way, so he can take note of your beckoning him over to ask him something. The tip you gave him last time, helps him remember to do these things and take note of your needs while in the club. It's just common sense.

I always tip one manager per visit. But as always, there are managers you don't need to tip as their influence and / or motivation to help you is limited. For me best manager is Slawa (there are 2 Slawas, I mean the younger one). I give him 100 Griwna and tell him I want to start in the basement area and move later to the upper area and later to the VIP area. So I can move whenever I want and have always a good table ready. In addition he gives me information about the girls. Who is new, who has good reputation, etc.

If the club is empty I don't see many reasons to tip them. It's up to you.

Right now (due to the Christmas days) Rio is very empty! But lots of girls though.

And the last time I had sushi at Rio, I got a stomach problem as well.

It's just that Mandarin is pretty far from the Maidan area. I usually walk to Rio but not to Mandarin. I paid 50 UAH to a cab last time to Mandarin, but 200 UAH on the way back. I should find out a way to call a cab to pick me up at Mandarin.

Right now in Kiev and visited yesterday night Rio. I was talking to 4 managers I know for a long time and in addition to some girls but nobody heard something that they want to close Rio. It looks like a rumor even though I know some people from Kiev who heard this rumor too as well as some fellows posted this here too.

They opened up again the basement area but at all it was very empty yesterday due to Christmas one day before. Girls quality was pretty good but not really some new stunners I was hoping for. So I decided for a girl I had already a couple of times and it was still very good.

Today I will go to Mandarin as one Manager told me they have more beauties there right now.

In regards to take out it is still 2, 400 Griwna for 3 hrs or USD 300. It's a pity they don't go down to EUR 220 due to the good exchange rate. They still want EUR 250, so right now best deal is to pay in Griwna.

If the girl really likes you and you do a good warm up job it will be more like 4 hrs in total. And always better to take them after 1:00 am! Because then they don't have big motivation. And again, no I don't promote this club. It's the best value for money you can get in Kiev (Liljoey tries to explain this for years here.)! Fact! I am not talking about average sukas you can get easy and for low money at Vodka Bar or wherever. Another very important issue for me is that I have the feeling that all girls at Rio and Mandarin are clean!

Thanks for the advice, I will checkout the clubs next time I am in Kiev, although I was in Buddha a few weeks back but it was very quite, having said that it was a Sunday which is never a good day. Not been to D'lux yet, or rather I tried once, I was with a girl I picked up she took me to D'lux but I had trainers so was refused entry.

Fully agree about the 2 hour, I found it pretty short and a bit rushed, if the chemistry is right, you can have sex more than once in three hours but in two hours taking into consideration the warm up chat, shower and travel, does not leave much time for anything else.

I also had the same experience the first time I went mongering at the Buddha Bar, after reading about all the hot p4p girls that were supposed to be there according to what I read here on the thread in the reports of others. But when I got there, I didn't see much going on. I wrote about it afterwards here, and was told that I might have been there at a too early hour. I had come at 10:00 PM and had left by 12:00 midnight. I figured if girls were going to show up, they would have been there already. I was told here that maybe I had left too early. I haven't gone back to Buddha Bar after that, because I started liking what I was able to accomplish at Rio at lower prices, and since last year I began having more luck finding hotties on mamba. Ru.
