Market: There is a market in the basement of the COLINS store around Kreschatic 13 right next to the big phone shop, between mcdonalds and independence sq. Its not smaller than the market in the mandarin plaza, so if its your first day and you arrive in Kiev around 22:00 you can get a sim card / charge your phone and do your shopping in 30 minutes.

Agree. I think guys place to much into it. There is no rule how to deal with girls, including former SSSR. My personal experience tought me that the best way it is just let it go, laugh your way out, and girls there as well as in any other place like guys who are easy going, little bit tough or playing so. Not stingy, but not stupid with money. Relax and have fan.

Most guys move beyond the Boat after their second trip to Kiev.

TBH, I used to be of the mind that the Boat would eventually resurface but at this point it's looking doubtful. The Kiev p4p market has already moved beyond it. You can find good concentrations of pro's and semi pro's in just about any club on the tourist radar in Kiev. Start with D'Lux.

The Boat was a great experience.

The only issue I had with BEZ at the time, was his constant bashing of River Palace, when in his own words (Never Have, Never WiLL) go to it.
