5 days in Odessa made finally go away the depressing sensation of never ending winter I was experiencing in Brussels.

I rented an apartment in Odessa Executive Suites (I had found the info here on the board). Very good location on Deribasovskaya, very friendly staff (nice to be picked up at the airport by the beautiful Maria), confortable apartment with kitchen, satellite Tv, computer with internet. The building however is still under radical renovation. Imagine making your way through swarms of workers when you bring a girl upstairs.

I enjoyed discovering the city, walking around, taking buses to the beaches (imperative to learn to read cyrillic alphabet), using the 4 words of russian I learned before going, watching World Cup in sports café's terrace.

The women are just amazing, tall, beautiful, sexily dressed (with very little on in this season actually), and so many of them!

Never seen such a concentration of top models ! You can easily spend hours on café terrace and watch beauties passing by.

However I didn't get many eye contacts, so I tryed Arkadia. I went there early evening to have dinner, and already you have loud music coming out of the many big discos. By 10pm the crowds started arriving, but mostly teenagers (very sexy teenagers also). So I think Arkadia can be fun if you are in your twenties, but I'm 53 and so didn't even bother to get inside those clubs.

So I called Inna, (you need a local phone by the way, I rented mine from OES). She's tall, dark hair, very beautiful, great body, very professional. Maybe too professional for my taste, maybe she had a tight schedule, but she wanted things done and when I feel pressure I have much less pleasure (and hardness...). She stayed less than an hour. 100$.

The last night I called Elena. We almost couldn't match our schedules (I wanted to watch the Italy-Australia game...lousy game, I was ashamed of my team, Italy), but her voice was so sexy. So I met her at eleven and we went upstairs. Blonde, beautiful, marvelous smile,very affectionate she immediately made me feel confortable. We had nice conversation, nice kissing, marvelous sex, I was in paradise. She was like my girlfriend, I loved to have her around naked in my apartment, chatting and drinking a glass of wine. I was in love. It was late so she even stayed for the night.

Elena also asks for 100$ which seems the standard for beautiful women in Odessa.
The prospect of meeting her again will certainly weight heavily in the decision to come back to Odessa !

A regular client of mine recently booked a return Aerosvit flight between Odessa and Kiev for himself and his girlfriend.Cost for both return tickets approx $400.However,if the Travel Agent was well informed he would have offered him tickets with the new operator at half the price!

Flight tickets for Odessa/Kiev/Odessa have soared in price during the past twelve months.Aerosvit used to have a $35 each way ticket that was readily available if you booked 5 days in advance.Although technically they still have cheaper seats these are virtually impossible to purchase as the price quoted is invariable $100 each way regardless of how early you book.

The new service between Odessa and Kiev is operated by Donbass Aero.I have had no problems getting tickets the day before travel for $50 each way.

A saving of $100 round trip.It is worth noting that there is another advantage of using this service.Flights are to Juliana,Kiev`s second airport located on the outskirts of town.The taxi fare is a mere 20 Hrivna to the center of town not the $20 from Borispil.

Don't take my experiences as a reason not to visit ODS. My brain was not really fully engaged when I got taken in. In fact I don't usually fall for scams so I can only put it down to the sunshine, sea air and high blood alcohol content

But to be honest, I think just about any other Ukrainian city will be an easier ride in terms of finding girls. Kiev, for example, seems fairly straightforward. If you buy a girl drinks she generally will give you something for your trouble.

There's a kind of calculating bloody mindedness with Odessa girls that's a little shocking to the uninitiated. But it really is worth going there at least once, if only to see a town where one in three girls looks like a supermodel. And if you keep your wits about you and play a tough game, you can get some gems.

The general rule is: keep a close eye on what you're getting compared with what you're giving out. If you seem to be in deficit, there's something fishy happening.

Before your report on Odessa, I was thinking that it could be a good idea to visit this place, especially because sun and beach, and girls.

Now I am not so sure.

Last year, I was in Kiev, and I used Gia and kievbeauty agencies, but in Odessa, after reading many reports, there is nothing like that.

May be I will find a good idea.

The last problem is, I don t speak russian.

Hi Ash et al,

I'd be interested if my timetable suits. The Irish bank holiday is the first Monday in August. I will be in Odessa before then I hope. Myself and another Irish mate had planned to go there on my last visit but have "pencilled" it in for sooner than later.

I understand that the layout is a "strip" where all the bars and cafes are on. It's a weekend only venue which made decisions difficult. If all things go to plan then I will be based in Kiev from August onwards and plan to do quite a bit of weekend excursions to other Ukraine cities for research purposes.

Ash, Nikolaev might be an interesting place to visit. I remember my landlady in Odessa last year "warned" me about women in Nikolaev. She said they are so desperate they´d take anything.
Who told you they have no shops though? It´s a pretty large city, about 500,000 people live there.

It's only 100 miles from Odessa but a world apart - girls every bit as hot but without the Odessan attitude. The landlady (Taya) of my Ekaterininskaya flat told me contemptuously that "it's just full of women with nothing to do waiting for a man. You want a smart, educated Odessa woman!". Yeah, right.

Dont feel too bad about getting taken by the freeloaders. Unfortunately the "freeloader" type girl is a very real part of the Odessan scene, something I didnt really figure out until last year either. Just like I said, "A phone number, a kiss, a date or a promise mean NOTHING in Odessa". It's a lesson that we all have to learn. As you read in my report, I declared war on the freeloaders this year and scored a minor victory... but it really was a hell of a battle, one that has been going on since I first discovered their game last year.

Fortunately I NEVER go shopping WITH girls and was able to escape without ever having a shopping trip, but I did give out a lot of drinks. That's club life though, and a part of club reality. I really dont mind that as long as I am the one calling the shots. And getting girls drunk is a strategy that I use shamelessly.

I also think think that gifts YOU SELECT are a great way to keep girls interested, so I do often buy the "regular girlfriends" some presents now and then... but on my own terms and on my own time(usually at duty free )... just like you do with a normal girlfriend. I have never been one to try to impress girls with money, I think it is ultimately the wrong way to deal with them. Sure you must show them you HAVE money and certainly I would never let a girl pay for her own meal if she is on a date with me... real men do get the bill on a date and real men do have money... especially in EE. But this doesnt mean that going shopping with a girl you just met is going to impress her. In fact, I think the effect is just the opposite.

You can also be sure that your two teens had at least a local boyfriend, and perhaps even more than one.

The sweet Masha1 I mentioned in my report, truly a sweet and charming girl, admits to having 3 (!) local boyfriends whom she milks and doesnt particularly like, and she thinks this is absolutely normal for Odessa... so it isnt just that they are targeting foreigners, we are just ideal targets since we have the courtesy to leave after a week or two and give them room to track down new victims. Beyond that, we are usually so horny that spending $100 on them in the hope to get laid is an easy sell. Take a look around, you'll find hundreds of girls with $400 phones and $300 handbags strolling the streets with no obvious source of income.

I love to fuck Odessan women, but I really despise them as well. The kind of overt dishonesty that you'll encounter with most Odessan women is something beyond compare and something you wont encounter as often in Kiev or Moscow.... and if you do take a girl shopping in Kiev, chances are she'll actually put out and give you some play.

For all the mongers heading to Odessa this year looking for freebies, dont give up hope. You can get laid in Odessa, I've done it many times. But dont take anything at face value and leave your dating perceptions at home. Your only goal is to get the girl out of the club and into your apartment. Behind closed doors, the mentality seems to change and the girls do put out pretty quickly.

And I am not saying you should be cheap... a follow up gift will go a lot farther than a gift beforehand. If you buy her stuff beforehand, she'll keep stringing you along as long as possible for more shopping trips. If you plan to be a return visitor, getting her a gift afterwards will keep her interested and she'll come around for some sex next time you are in town no strings attached no questions asked... at least that's been my experience.
