I have been to many countries and Ukraine once. But back then I stayed in a hotel and grabbed street hookers for fun at $100/ each. Fun back then but not now. Now I want less of a street girl. The defense against this is obvious: control your environment, do not go to unknown locations. Invite the girls to your own scam-proof apartment. The rest is. Just as Ivan explained: do not place yourself in a position of a target.

Besides that, I do not like fucking the girls at their apartment anyway, even if it's an agency, or an indie. Do not trust their hygiene, etc. It is also difficult to romance the young beauty with my boyish charms while mamasan is outside the door, ready to knock while you still have 10 more minutes, and literally are trying to come.

Drugs represent a serious offense in Ukraine, and bribes on the spot may not help. Legal system is significantly different. Do not do it as a foreigner. Another scams that are less common but a lot more dangerous and they still may happen in Ukraine are the scams aimed to scary the shit out of.

Easy sex seekers and sometimes even hurt them (and take their money of course).

Again, this may happen to anybody not being cautious in any country.

So the most common start of the scam is same as consummation. Some nice looking girl approaches you and doesn't offer sex for money straight away.

She accepts your cocktails, talks to you, laughs a lot and then (when you are drunk) offers to continue the party in some other place or at her apartment.

If you accept the offer, then there are few outcomes:

1) You are super lucky and it ends with real party and sex afterwards.

2) You are taken to some suburbs district with zero foreigners and end up in some apartment where some other guy appears and acts husband or policeman.

It may turn out that the girls is underaged / has drugs on her so you will lose money not be beaten by a jealous husband or not to be taken to the police.

3) The least pleasant variant. You may get robbed when you step out of the taxi car by some other dudes that work closely with the girl.

And back to some drugs. Also one of the most common ways to scam foreigners is to sell them "drugs".

In the best case it will end with you getting what you did not pay for (for.

Example some cheap low quality amphetamine in stead of cocaine. Low quality amphetamine.

Is super popular among hookers / party girls in Ukraine but be careful.

Remember that cocaine is super expensive in Ukraine and may cost up to 200 dollar per gram.

If you are offered a low price, then most likely you will lose money or get some low quality.

I know some girls offer to sell you Viagra like its something illegal and hard to get.

Remember, in Ukraine you can buy Viagra in almost any drug store. It can be sold.

And some advice from me that look obvious for some users but may be new to others.

A) don't flash money. I prefer to keep money not in the wallet and have.

It in different amounts and different pockets. When you are a foreigner and take out your wallet at the bar to pay for cocktails / food. Trust me, chances.

Are really high that many eyes are looking at what you have inside. Its a sign that you need to be robbed / fooled when you have a stash of 500 UAH bills along.

With euros and dollar inside. Better leave the wallet at home. Take 200 UAH bills + some 50 UAH bills for tips and keep them in different pockets.

When I want to party and plan to spend some money for "love", I take 50-100 $ bills and hide it inside my ass (kidding), I put in inside my deepest pocket and.

Don't touch it unless I need to pay for sex in some cosy and safe place. Then I put some 200 UAH bills in the right pocket and 50-100 UAH in the left pocket.

This way I am sure that I can "dive" into my right pocket, count 5 bills and take 1000 UAH without flashing anything.

Another GEM. In Ukraine, you don't need to register sim cards, so I suggest you to buy 200 dollar Android phone and a sim card for pubs / bars / parties. I once lost.

My main phone with all the mail / bank / messengers profiles which drove me nuts.

Believe me, bling bling on your hand and neck + iPhone 12 max + leather wallet with multi GEO bills = you are a target for scammers.

Cash, regular phone, nice but not casual expensive clothes, smile and the absense of fear on your face + moderate tipping (10-15%) you are a romantic traveler, a nice dude who chose Ukraine.

Among other countries and this will attract only good vibes to you.

I have been almost scammed with lost wallet on the floor at Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow. Check-in desk airline employee and police were all visibly involved in staging it. At the time I didn't know the particular structure of that scam. Common sense helped to avoid it.

There was an attempt in San Diego with a P4P girl, saying "Pay me upfront" and then she had to go to get her purse from the car. Kicked her out without giving her money.

I do not leave my drinks unattended.

I do not go to any dating sites, and God forbid, I would never think of marrying an Administrator / Manager of a dating site / agency. Not in Ukraine, not anywhere else. And even knowing all that is going on in those dating sites, I would still not think that Kiev and Odessa are the scam capitals of the world. There are threats, vulnerabilities and risks. Making someone less protected by frequenting locations with higher probability of materialized threat, makes that person more vulnerable, more susceptible, raises the risk. Simple math.

Again, I never go to Arena City, and as much as I enjoyed Rio and Star Rhino for a few years, I stopped. I could see Rio across the street from my balcony, and felt no appeal. I think of them as vacuum cleaners, sucking money out of my pockets. Mandarin next to River Palace has been great, but is long time gone.

Getting regular, or even hourly girls from established consolidating dispatchers is so much safer, because those dispatchers treat me as a repeat customer, and it is in their interest to keep me safe and returning. Not true at all. I lived in St. Pet. For a brief time. Very few issues at all with scams Moscow was even better, almost no issues at all. Never did I have an issue at restaurant or bar, nothing like the crap they were trying to pull in Ukraine. I am in MTY I had a few issues with fake profiles, but very few. Nothing at Restaurants. Sorry you are just wrong. There are scams every where in Ukraine, you know and I know. You guys pretending they do not exist are real doing a disservice to other.

It usually does not happen elsewhere in Russia, and it happens very often in Saint Petersburg. I have close friends who have been living there for years and they warned me right away. This is a huge, ongoing, and widespread "razvod" scam that has permeated much of the most popular bar and club scene, and is not just limited to strip clubs. I have experienced daily attempts at being scammed on Tinder and by girls approaching you on Rubinstein street. Bartenders, waiters, police, and mafia are getting kick backs, and nothing is being done about it because there is so much money it in. I feel sorry for all the tourists who have been scammed during the football games in SPB.

Signs to look out for, and usually with 18-25 year old girls.

1. Tinder girl will suggest to meet on Nevski or Rubinstein street.

2. She names a good bar (could be Karaoke bar where each song is 1000, each bottle is 6000, the bill is in hundreds of dollars quickly).

Maybe it does not happen to them directly, but they are well aware of this behavior and choose to ignore it or claim it does* not exist. Just not true, this is the main reason you need to avoid Ukraine, or be very careful.

I have been coming to Ukraine more regularly for work since 2014 and this is the only time it happened to me. But of course I heard of this shit happening a lot in some form or another. This restaurant scam is one of the oldest tricks in the book and luckily I saw it coming. But, if I were drugged or got caught, I would have had a big problem for sure. I never meet girls in a bar or restaurant unless of course it is a normal date with a normal woman. By normal I mean someone who it is realistic I would date. (I am 45 and in good shape but I don't look at anyone under 37 for normal dating).

I have also heard this story first hand. Guy gets a girl to come to apartment and he pays her first. Then she says she is underage and will leave and if he complains she will call the police or her brothers or whatever.

So, I take the precaution of meeting them at my apartment but say that the domophone is broken and then I meet them outside and size them up.

I also obviously working girl-proof my apartment. Documents, cards, cash, etc. Well hidden. I do have some expensive gear that is part of my profession so I have this risk. However, I keep a military medal (real) and retired police badge (my cousin's) on the bar where I invite them to sit. I also keep helmet and vest from war on a chair next to bar. I want to signal that they should think before trying a crime of opportunity. I don't know if this is effective but I haven't hd a problem yet. Of course I have had duds, cold fish, etc. Between that and dog tags, which I also make kinda obvious, I let them know what I am capable of. Some don't even notice and I wonder if they are stupid. They should also be paying attention to their surroundings!. Anyway, not everyone has such stuff of course. But I do think it is very possible top create a back story that will make them think twice before grabbing something. And obviously, with all this said, my goal is to have a nice time with a pretty girl for a few hours. So, I do all of this very subtlety. My point is that you should definitely take precautions, let them know who you are (even if it is not real), and then, after that, you are taking some risk.

Since everywhere in the world is closed came finally to Odessa to find out how they try to rip you off.

I read about it a lot but wanted to see it myself.

First of all I must say most the girls in Odessa are mostly 8-10/10 on my beauty scale. Lots of make up and well dressed up to go out.

You will find them in the weekends in all bars of city center: I tried Amsterdam (hotel / restaurant) and central bar both places with good crowd and a few w / g coming in after midnight.

I texted the driver and said I will be out in 2 minutes. I ordered a bunch of shots for us and for next table. Drank my shot, said I wanted to grab a cigarette and walked outside. It was clear security was watching closely so as soon as I was maybe clear of the door, I took off, jumped in the cab and said to go. This dummy was texting me for next 24 hours saying she had to pay the bill and she will find me, blah blah. I am not sure how the scam works. I assume they get a percentage of the inflated bill. But not sure if they had to pay after I stiffed them. But, I do hope so.

This was definitely a 1 time adventure and I don't recommend trying this at all. I understand it could have ended badly. But I have to say, they tried to fuck me and they got good and fucked instead!

Plenty of reports of similar scams here in the ST Petersburg forum, I had it tried in China, Philippines, Mongolia and Tanzania. It really is not that difficult to avoid and certainly not a reason to avoid Kiev or Odessa. I just say I want to have sex, not a drink, and if you get resistance then you will get resistance after spending a lot of money on booze or worse get drugged and cleaned out.

Not true at all. I lived in St. Pet. For a brief time. Very few issues at all with scams Moscow was even better, almost no issues at all. Never did I have an issue at restaurant or bar, nothing like the crap they were trying to pull in Ukraine. I am in MTY I had a few issues with fake profiles, but very few. Nothing at Restaurants. Sorry you are just wrong. There are scams every where in Ukraine, you know and I know. You guys pretending they do not exist are real doing a disservice to other.
