OK well soon i will leave Donetsk, on a self imposed exile..... If i stay any longer i may have to pay some tax So whilst I read time and time again about how important it is to speak Russian out in the provinces I decided to set my stall for my last two weeks here as a short term stayer with a modicum use of basic Russian to see how far I got. Well after the first week the results have been outstanding if I am honest. In seven days I have met and exchanged numbers with near to 50 girls, of those 50 about 20 have called me or I have called them met up and had lunch, dinner and breakfast with 6
So how?

Well to start with I set up an all new English only profile on Flirt and started to send loads of messages out over a couple of days, the response was from "sorry i do not speak English" to “ hello pleased to meet you call me on 80……..” these of course where followed up as soon as I got the message right away, I kept away for the P4P girls but did contact the ones asking for sponsor.

Secondly I found every excuse on the street to talk to girls from stopping to ask for directions to places I already knew the way to….. and of course asking in English with very bad Russian, the results on this where very good far better than I would have expected in reality, of course the hit rate was lower but still worth a go if you have the gonads to do it, I also used the questions like where is good to go for a drink? And when told ask if she wanted to join me for that drink or else I would be sat on my own.

Thirdly, Trains Trolley buses and Mashrukas, for my last two weeks I have stopped driving and being driven and started to catch public transport, this has been a super source of contacts, making eye contact and starting to talk based on the same lines as asking for directions on the street and good cafes etc etc, the girls on the buses and the trolley buses where more open to invitations to meet than the ones contacted on the street.

The ins and outs of the results, well I can say I have nailed 6 girls in 7 days, and have no more contact work to do to ensure a full set of appointments until I leave on the 20th

I will miss Ukraine….. but will return at least part time in the coming months

Nice to hear some info about Simferopol.

Been there several times and my impression is it's somehow dead.

Maybe little better during summer season and even then Simferopol is just transportation point for the tourist going to Crimea.

Can't be comapred to Sevastopol, Evpatoria and even those small crimean resort so Simferopol is not recommended as pure mongering destination.

I am in Simferopol for a couple of days and want to share some experiences.

The city has 350 000 inhabitants, so neither small neither big.

First I was there in the central located (Kirova Avenue) Globus Night Club/Discotheque, for this city this is an upscale place, Entrance 50 Grivna, Long-Drink 35 Grivna, Bottled-Beer 25 Grivna, nice atmosphere with some really great looking stunners, but I guess that local girls who can afford the prices there, usually are not interested in short-term relationships with foreigners.

Then I was in several strip clubs, entrance and one drink was always around 100 Griven, you can watch the girls dance and they will also come to your place and talk to you, you can choose to have "Private Dances" in seperate Rooms but I was not in the mood to do this.

The dancers there look pretty, but nothing special, with one exception.

So far for today, I will share further experiences if I do some interesting ones !

Normally you do not need even to go to a proper Apoteka to buy them. A Apoteka "kiosk" a smaller one, usually in a supermarket or in a shopping centre, have them exposed in the window, just ask or point what you want, nobody will care.

They know you are drilling the teens!

Some Apoteka in hotels have them too (not everywhere like in Moscow!).

Usually they are genuine (no fakes). So not cheap but sure!

At least I got V... in apteka here in Nikolaev, both original and from India.
Without pre-scription. Not cheap, though. Year ago it was about 10$/100mg pill.

Sehns then you have both reasons to go to Zaporozhye which I stated.

Both business and local support. It might turn out good but don't be dissapointed if it doesn't.

But don't expect to much since I noticed that many people from Zaporozhye tend to present their city much better than actually it is.

If the people who work for you are locals which I presume.

About hotels I know about this. Several hotesl are situated on main street. Prospekt Lenina. I know about this two:

- hotel "Inturist/Zaporozhye" (old/new name) on prospekt Lenina 135 number I think.

- hotel "Ukraina" also on prospekt Lenina 165 (by the buliding of local government) They are old soviet hotels but they look the best. They are rated three stars. Also there's "Jazz" hotel which is rated with four stars but it's little too far away. My recommendation for staying is hotel "Ukraina". Don't know it's the best hotel regarding quality and service. But it has the best location in center of town. In Zaporozhye (as in many cities in Ukraine) everything you need is located in center. Very close to hotel "Ukraina" is main post office, bank, supermarket, different state departments, offices, everything else for business. In the night there are restaurants and night clubs.

Places to go (I put the names in english):

"White steamboat", "Versailles", "Olimp", "Green parrot", "Paradise Coctail". Maybe this are places at the level but keep in mind there's not much choices in Zaporozhye.

Anyway don't expect much in Zaporozhye. It's just a provincial place.

About 24hr gdp/casino hotel I don't know. Maybe it's just a place I mentioned in the center of city, or maybe somethnig new and in this case maybe some distance form the center.

About english speaking it means you will depenand of "your" people there and what they offer.

Also keep in mind the time you're arriving. Early may is hoilday time (May 1st.labour day) and it can be both good and bad.

Anyway leave a report how was your trip. No matter good or bad.

I've been to Zaporozhie several times.

There's no need to wast your time on it, especially if you're newbie to Ukraine. Check the forum and info about Zaporozhie is almost non existing which says for it self.
Zaporozhie is just big, provincial, industrial place.

It always amuses me how a city big az Zaporozhie (population 800 000) can be so boring. You can die out of boredom after two days.

In Zaporozhie one can go for two reasons:

1. You go there on bussines and somebody else (like your company) is paying
you costs.

2. You know local people who will give you all needed support.

I go to Zaporozhie because of the second.

Going to Zaporozhie because of p4p or freebies is just waste of time, for this is much better to stay in Kiev as always - it will be much better, easier, probably cheaper. Plus in Zaporozhie knowing russian is essentiall.

Also in Zaporozhie people have a tricky mentallity thanks to their Cossac origin. Krime is high in Zaporozhie, in any form exisiting. About 100 km south from Zaporozhie is city Melitopol, called crime capital of Ukraine. And Zaporozhie is called Melitopol's first filiale.

When I ask people in Ukraine which is the worst city in Ukraine grat majority will say Zaporozhie and Lugansk. Guess they know why is that. That reminds me of situation I had two years ago in Moscow. I was in the company of several people and one of them was American working for the Moscow company. The company offered him a job to choose in Zaporzhie or Lugansk. So he asked his russian work mates which city to choose. Everybody told him "Stay in Moscow or go back to USA" he he.
Also when I ask local people in Zaporozhie what people live there the answer is only those who were born in Zaporozhie and are not able to go to some other place.
The only reason why some foreigner should go to Zaporzhie is to see power plants, hydro and nuclear. Seriously. So Sehns if you're going to Zaporozhie as tourist (sex or any other kind) my advice is to change your destination. Exept you're a hardcore explorer and adventurere, you're expert about Ukraine and you speak good russian.

I have an offshore office of guys who work for me online there, and I'll be visiting on business.

The reason it doesn't 'seem' that bad is that all my workers speak english, I even have a few young, not bad looking female english speaking workers. They promise me they'll look after me, take me out and introduce me to other girls, etc.

My office manager says theres a 24hr gdp/casino hotel I could stay at. Have you heard of this?
