I seem to recall having seen some video of typical scenes around Taff Embankment, with an abundance of girls around. But went for a look the other day and nothing to be seen at all. Has there been a big cleanup?

Residents, Councillors and police expressed the need for a new strategy to deal with sex workers in Grangetown.

Prostitution along the Taf Embankment was one of the issues brought up by residents at the latest Grangetown PACT meeting this week.

The current strategy is a five stage plan, where prostitutes are given a number of warnings before any arrest can be made.

This system is designed more to help women off of the streets rather than criminalising them by engaging them with support groups such as Street Life.

As it currently stands, each time the police catch a woman soliciting they are given a warning and if they are caught again within three months they are moved on to the next stage in the five step process.

I could list many other brothels in south wales who have been operating for many (15) years without a hitch and they have always had websites and the same premises in use,but won't name them here in case they get raided. Just don't visit them when rugby games are on. Street walkers are active and always have been in many south wales towns inc Cardiff.

That used to be ports for shipping. The locals complain about them to the cops. So long as they keep their heads down they seem to be OK and carry on year after year.

There were those walk in apartments all over Soho (particularly Leceister Square) and Mayfair. I have heard that many of those closed. What happened, why is the police cracking down on these places.

There were other apartments with more than one girl, technically not legal I suppose, but these were widely tolerated. It seems like prostitution venues are being closed one by one, does anyone know why that is?

Ping Li received free accommodation and 220 per week to "take care" of women working at a brothel in Richmond Road near the Cathays area of the city.

The 43-year-old answered the door to customers and occasionally took money which he left near to the front door of the property for others to collect, a court heard.

He was discovered after he answered the door to an undercover police officer taking part in a sting to crack down on prostition.

Li admitted a single charge of controlling prostitution for gain "together with others" at Newport Crown Court on Wednesday.

Tim Evans, prosecuting, told the court the operation was uncovered as a result of a South Wales Police operation.

Officers found a series of online adverts and were directed to the premises in Richmond Road after calling one of the numbers.

It's been a month now in Cardiff and its a nice city.

One day while I'm on a cab I saw a pretty girl on street. I let the cab diver stop and walked back to her and she was gone. Its been a week every time I pass can't find her.
