Here are a couple of links that list guesthouses:
www.Accessgambia.com/guesthouses.html
www.Gambiaguesthouse.net
I've e-mailed a few and will update the thread when I get some answers.
Here is the reply I have had from Luigi's:
If you have a guest staying with you they need to be registered, then they will be free to move around the complex. If you are going to have visitors they must leave the premises before midnight and they must show their ID card to the security on entry. Visitors may only enter and leave the premises with you and at all time must stay in your presence. Visitor are not permitted to enter rooms unaccompanied or at any time be left in the room. I have available a Standard double room £245 per week or Junior suite £280 per week. There is a £5 per night discount for booking of 4 weeks or over. This price includes breakfast for 2 persons, in the rooms there is a fridge, kettle, AC, room safe, TV, wi-fi and hard wire internet access.

Apart from Luigi's, does anyone have any up to date contacts for guesthouses in Gambia, especially the Kololi area?
I intend going for 4 weeks in November.

Posts: 61$225 is way out of line for a taxi from Dakar to Banjul. 40,000CFA = $90 is more like it at the most. You can take the bus. Last I checked (about 2 years ago) it was like 5000CFA ($12) and is a normal bus, like a 10 year old Greyhound. You find the bus near the port, it is sort of between Bar Le Siren (THE place to be in Dakar after 4AM) and where you get the ferry to Goree.

I'm expecting to go to Kololi in late November for the first time. I heard that in some of the hotels the female staff are more than happy to join a guest in his room for a consideration. Is that true or has it been stamped out? Anyone had any pleasureable experiences with hotel staff in Kololi?
Thanks

Congrats on booking your hol. Sunset Beach hotel is at Kotu and a lovely location for a beach holiday. Unfortunately you are going to have to travel for P4P. No hotels are girl friendly but the security may be persuaded to turn a blind eye for a few dalasis. In my opinion this is just pure hassle and you won't be comfortable. e.g. they will come and knock on your door/window at 5 a.m. saying that the girl must go now. If I were you I would find a small place like the Liverpool Arms and rent a room there to take the girls back to. It's run by a lady called Babs and she'll understand your needs. About 500 dalasis per night I think. You mention Bakau for mongering but although there are places there it's pretty sparse and low class. You should head for Senegambia strip, Kololi Highway (where the Liverpool Arms is) or the area between Palma Rima hotel and the beach. (Churchill's and Bucarabu). Further afield try Jokor's at Westfield, Serrekunda, on a Wednesday night in particular. If you go back to a girl's compound be prepared for a real culture shock. Probably just a mattress on the floor and no running water and probably no power. Most of the girls live in the Kololi/Kotu/Manjai/Kerr Serign areas which are the villages INLAND of the coastal highway. A taxi from say Senegambia to one of the villages would cost 100 to 200 dalasis if late at night. A further 100 dalasis and the driver would probably wait for you while you do the deed.

Posts: 13I've booked my first trip to Gambia after the new year. For a hotel I took Sunset beach, even though I know it's definately not a GF hotel, based on the writings posted here. I just got so good deal of it, that I couldn't refuse.
I could still change to a same pricelevel hotel which aren't maby that good, but if they are more GF, I would like to change. Does anyone know the policy of the hotels Mansea beach or Cape point?
Also, what are the best places to find girls in Bakau area? If I can't take 'em to my hotel, how much would it cost to find another GF hotel for a night or can I trust that the girl has a place? How much are the possible taxi fares to the girls compound and back? Ofcourse it depends where to, but just to get an idea. Thanks a lot in advence.

Posts: 184A comparision between Thailand and Gambia
A comparision between Thailand (Phuket) and Gambia (Banjul) made by myself. You can read those in following links:

At the moment I am in Pattaya. I can't compare an elephant with a mosquito, can I? That's why no need to compare Pattaya with Banjul.
