Congrats Arabia. Is she Ghanaian? Not often to find such a slim, tall lady with such a cute face in Accra. The only ones I have seen with those attributes are from other countries in Africa. Most of the local ladies here are very rounded with larger asses. If that is your taste, you will be in heaven in Ghana. But for those of us who like the slimmer version, harder to find.

I am seriously tempted for a weekend day or evening visit even though I have my own place in Accra near the Mall. I have three regular GFs who come to visit me on weekdays (well nights actually) , so I am a happy old devil but I find that I am running out of excuses for not letting them stay at the weekend. I enjoy time off at weekends to be by myself as well as having the freedom to go hunting and then banging a different lady once in a while. Nothing wrong with a bit of variety.

I now fancy a trip out to Lapaz and having the pick of the local ladies without central Accra prices.

Sometime at weekends I visit one of my 3 GFs further along the road from Lapaz at her place in Wiega (well mine I suppose since I paid the 24 months rent). Attached are some shots of my Liberian lovely in her bedroom & her extensive shoe collection.

True. Don't rely on hotel wifi unless you stay at the super- expensive hotels. Avoid internet cafes, it's an excellent recipe for identity theft by the owner or one of the Nigerian patrons.

As I mentioned in my previous post, you can get a TiGo dongle for around 50 Cedis (less than 25 US dollars not 70 as mentioned).

And all that I have just mentioned could be easily verified by the kind NSA Officer who is reading this post.

Yes, the dongle works if you only want to connect to Internet using laptop, but mobile wifi hotspot will enable you to securely use any wifi enabled device you may have.

Get the 60 Cedis room with private bathroom and airconditioning. It is the same size like the 90 Cedis they will try to sell you. Breakfast (way too basic) is included for one person. 2nd person pays 15 Cedis. They have a safe at reception you can leave cash, laptop, passport, creditcards etc will you go out or are in the room with someone who might 'clean' you. You are 7-10 minutes walk from the SW I mentioned before, but most important, you are near the fruit / vegetables market and in an area there are no obronis. So, take advantage of it. 2 wifi signals- good luckto you if you rely on either working ok.

Hansonic hotel- easy to google its website- 50 cedis per night w / bathroom and fan. Small room. Fairview was a lot bigger, withbreakfast for 2. From Hansonic you can walk in 15 minutes to the kinishe market-obviously full of women. I mean packed with women. Never managed. To do the breakfast for well obvious reasons.

Stayed there about 10 years ago and it was nothing to write home about. It's on the main hwy (noisy) , has small rooms and cold water only. Don't think that Lapaz is great for women either, so I'd just pay more and stay in town.

I usually have my international vaccinations booklet in my suitcase. This time I had it with my passport. It was excellent luck because they went thoroughly to examine valid yellow fever stamps and they stopped 2 guys from entering the country.

I would recommend purchasing an unlocked mobile hotspot. That way, you just charge it up, insert SIM (after purchasing and loading Internet bundles) , and connect to Internet. Never again will I rely on public wifi when I travel. Just remember that only the most upscale hotels have backup generators. Others may or may not have, and if they do, they only run them on limited basis. So you are working on an important online interface or putting the finishing touches on a 7 paragraph trip brief when the power goes out and stays off for an hour or so. I can imagine the foul words you are muttering if you fail to save that post in a MS Word document! No such worries when you have your own secure mobile hotspot.

You can purchase an Alcatel OneTouch Y580 3G+ mobile hotspot device for about $70USD from any of the electronics shops that sell everything from cell phones to iPads and laptops (I found a couple in Westlands Papao, but actually purchased mine from the electronics shops you typically find near the entrance of supermarkets like Uchimi-yes that was in Kenya and also in East Africa). That is definitely higher than free wifi, but free wifi is not always the best. Also, when it goes down because the proprietor is slow to renew the subscription, your urgency in getting it back on is not always shared by the African proprietor. Trust me on that as I speak from recent experience.

This is my experience from normal / affordably priced hotels in Accra:

1. No hot water.

2. No wifi or reliable connection

3. Short power shortages.

Maybe you should invest the 20-25 dollars to get a local wifi dongle.

Rents for locals are 300- 500 Cedis for an apartment in Accra. I found some on internet for 50-100 dollars per night but locations were not to my liking. There are sings on streets for apartment rentals so may I suggest that you ask a local to get those numbers for you?

Basic hotel prices with bathroom in your room range between 50 and 60 cedis per night: examples are Hansonic and Fairview Hotels, including breakfast for only 1 person. That said, my recent stay with no breakfast was 30 Cedis per night but not an easy location for first time visitors.

If you plan to be there before October a room with a fan will do. Air conditioning might be an overkill.

You are aware that there are no street names in Accra. Except onGoogle Maps (it works perfectly) and in the old town by the sea. Eg see High Street.

In the last 2 weeks, street names have been stenciled on the walls of every street in Takoradi, some of the weirdest names though.

I also saw 2 weeks ago a programme on TV trying to educate Ghanians to start using street names. The names exist in their urban planning, GoogleMaps got them, but most streets don't have their names.

How people get their post? Well. Usually they don't need. Any for example, they do not get an electricity utility bill for their home. What they do, they buy electricity units like you buy time phone credit for a prepaid sim card and they charge the electricity meter with the electricity credit code they boughtIn some things they are very advanced technologically.

If they need their post, well. They need to find the postman who lunches at a given place or pick it up from a designated store.

Most taxi drives in Accra are unaware of street names.
