Just a quick report on my first trip to Ghana. Ups and downs.

2 layovers and a total 20 hours travel time originating from the US east coast, I had finally arrived in Kotoka Airport in Accra. A very small airport with a little restaurant I found downstairs inside the airport that I milked drinks in while I waited few hours for check-in to start for my late night return flight.

I track down my bag, run through customs and head to the currency exchange booth. I exchange $1000 US right at 4 cedi to 1 dollar. Next I look for the free WiFi to summon an Uber car. (Yes uber in Accra. No need to spend my fun cash, and extremey low pricing for taxi service.) No free airport wifi! So on to plan be, a taxi from the airport. I March past all the OFFICIAL taxis at the entrance as if I already had a ride because no matter where I travel in the world they typically charge the most. I get down to the street and flag taxi after taxi for the fair price of 15 cedi to Osu. Each started with 40 cedi and would go no lower than 30.5 or 6 taxis later I said screw it and paid the 30 cedi. Shit 15 cedi extra is $3 and change in the US. I'm not going to let $3 ruin my arrival.

I set up my stay at the Lake Bosumtwi Hotel / Apartments across the street from Ako Adjei park in Osu. A five min walk to Oxford St. With close access to most of the happenings. It was a quick 20 min taxi ride from the airport while the driver and I had laughs as he pointed out and honked at the waving on duty pros on many of the street corners.

I arrive and begin check in. The hotels credit card machine does not accept my credit card as Credit but keeps demanding a card PIN which I do not know or ever used. It's almost 10 pm, I whip out my magic jack and call my credit card provider for help. The bank tells the hotel manager I have more than enough funds and no charge has been attempted from their hotel per their records. Nothing else they can do. I tell the hotel front desk to call their card reader merchant provider and ask for an alternate form to receive pay. They call, and the merchant will be their by 12 pm next day. The manager who has been very accommodating shows me to my room (without me paying) and says please do not worry we will sort it out tomorrow but tonight sleep well. She gives me an upgraded room for the night. Very nice accomadations much a kin to an apartment with separated quarters. I believe it was the $130 US dollar per night room where I paid for the suite which was $100 per night. Just additional info. I normally pay for my hotels online to ensure no issues, unless I get a good cash discount like in Sosua for ex. In this case I found this place on Airbnb which I use often. However when I found that I could not pay in advance on the Airbnb website which is unusual, and no reviews for this person or the hotel were there. I messaged the posting host and she directed me to the hotel website which states you only pay at check in, AND it showed a price of $15 per night less expensive than advertised on Airbnb. I quickly cross check the hotel on TripAdvisor for reviews and found they were all good reports. I contacted them directly and booked my stay ensuring they knew I was paying via my American. Mastercard credit card. I also questioned the hotel manager regarding the price difference and she tells me the online host is a concierge service and the extra charge is what they are paid for their advertising. So FYI guys, if you see the same person showcasing many hotels and apartments online, try to find the place you like website for the real price.

I knock out and the next day the merchant arrives and we download slydepay app on my smartphone. He explains the many payment benefits in Ghana thru Slydepay, I pay online for my room and my start is now official.

I move to my suite which I like more than the upgrade, order breakfast off their menu (No restaurant on the grounds however you can order breakfast, lunch and salads off of their somewhat limited but very reasonably priced menu).

I ask the hotel manager for the fair taxi price for Oxford st. (5 cedi) and the best place to buy a phone, and a store to purchase the essentials. (beer, water, mouthwash, food cooked and uncooked) forgot to mention the suite has an equipped mini kitchen and living area (see it online). She grabs her bag and says come on. She personally walks me up to Oxford st. And escorts me personally to each location while translating their local language. Shoprite is on Oxford st. For your grocery needs, Airtel is across the street from Shoprite. The official phone store is located on the main level and you buy the Sim card and phone plan from a store directly above the phone store. I purchased the least expensive smartphone with 1 plus gig processor and 8 gig ram extendable plus, dual sim at 250 cedi. It was a windows lumina p. O. s (piece of sh! After trying to use it. Ill never venture from android again LOL, except for an iphone. For less than 50 cedi more I could of purchased an android. I know better now. It's screwy location system and Internet made getting Uber and using the Here map apps extremely difficult. I couldn't get Google maps on it either and the waze map which Uber uses as well sucked on it. (I only ubered 35% of the time due to the sucky phone.) Also you can buy most grocery needs and airtime from the tiny street stands littered up and down every block. (I constantly checked with the front desk or my girls for the typical price I should be paying instead of the foreigner prices).

I get back and scroll thru my list of ladies I pipelined a few days in advance and requested numbers and distances. By the next 2 hours I had 16 plus #'s with locations from 8 hours away (still wanting to come) and less.

I found the generic at a pharmacy on the side street directly accross from Frankies hotel and restaurant which is also on oxford st. And 1 block away from shoprite.

I also paid for a room at Frankies for a few day in addition to my original hotel due to parading to many women in and out of my small hotel. I needed a second spot. I had an uninvited chick show up while I was out with the main chick. I found the rooms at Frankies to be less desirable than Lake Bosumtwi which are equally or slightly lower priced. However Frankies has a restaurant on site that is opened almost around the clock and they serve breakfast all day, along with an ice cream / pastry room.

Labadi beach hotel has a very nice breakfast buffet for 110 cedi.

Near the Roots hotel (which is a nice place with great security to keep the crazies out. Bigdogchris stayed there) is planet kabob on Oxford st. , a very reasonably priced but good fast food joint.

Sights and things to: During the day labadi beach starts getting packed, 10 cedi by cab and 10 cedi per person to enter. You can sit either at a table on the beach or inside the 2 story hut style bars and restaurants facing the ocean. Plenty of women. My date and I typically sat inside Venice city bar and grill on the beach while we watched all of the entertainment on the beach from competitions to shows, the music and atmosphere is very nice. Decent tours. See bottom of report.

Night time:

Shi Sha lounge is a hookah bar and grill in Osu opened 7 days a week.

Monsoon is a bar and grill with good but pricey food, bigdog and I picked up really hot chicks there.

Plot 7 in Osu jumps Thurs, Friday and sat. The selection there of beautiful hot girls is ridiculous. Nowhere near enough guys to handle the amount there.

Afrikikos has Latin flavor nights from salsa on- starting Wednesdays thru Sunday. Reminds me of a beer garden setup with a dance floor in the middle.

Honeysuckle I went to on a Sunday the football match was on but I'm told it typically rocks.

Firefly I and Osu is just Ok, we picked up a couple of cuties there.

When you say reliable I think you mean people who can deliver. Well my friend if I were you I would strike a deal with an Uber driver.

If they are within radius they can help you move from the club. They are in town 24 hrs a day. Pertaining A it is quite difficult to. Accra, a new friend and this thing of ours.

Long flight back to JFK, figured I'd give all the guys who've offered helpful posts in the past a best-as-I-can review of my last 6 days in Accra. If in addition to providing what I hope to be relevant info, a couple readers have a good laugh, all the better.

So here goes; some experiences and lessons on my mongering in Accra.

Some quick background: I'm a white guy, late's 40's, married (fairly happily, but to a women wholly uninterested in sex). I'm a professional in New York, about 6'4 which is relevant only bc people said "wow you tall" 5 times a day and I found both men and in particular women to be shorter than I expected / hoped. Given the choice of building my perfect Barbie, I lean toward 5'9-5'11,130-150 lbs, slim with curves and a high, tight round ass, an athletic gazelle. I found few if any of these, but a whole selection of petite very slim girls with high and round asses and as many and more of bigger bootie girls. All of their asses stuck out in the way butt implants could only aspire to. The difference between a 5'4" 150 lb girl in the US and Africa is simple. The US girl is fat, the African girl has a rocking body, even if your tastes might vary from this particular body type. 3rd time to Africa, twice to The Gambia; this was my first time to Accra, Ghana.

First off Accra is Africa; the innocence and kindness of the people, the chaos on the streets and marketplace at Makalo Market, the slave castles and forts of West Africa, the poverty and lack of clean water, the terrible roads, and run down taxis, the inefficiency of day to day business activities Westerners take for granted.

The growing wealth of Ghana. Oil discovered offshore. Is evident (as opposed to The Gambia which is among the 10 poorest countries in the work by per capital GDP, nothing works and everyone except ex-pats are nearly to totally destitute). But as it always is, that wealth in inequitably distributed. Ghana is still among the poorest 30 countries in the world. We went to the Accra mall, and I was shocked at the number of high end shops, but they obviously weren't catering to most.

I met 7-8 girls over the course of my 5 active days, slept with 3 or 4 and found the most success with girls I just picked up in bars rather that pipelined for 4+ weeks ahead of time. Ok, I was fired up about this trip and was talking to a couple dozen girls over the last couple of months. Yeah, I should probably get a life, LOL.

Let's be clear: these girls are poor and it is about the money. I paid each of them, slipped cash in the purse on the way out and never discussed money ahead of time. From what I've read, if you go the pro-route, do the total opposite, negotiate all ahead of time. This is no major accomplishment. Hey girls, you are cute, where are you going? They say, why don't you come with us? Great, let my call my buddy and off it went. Half an hour later we are both smooching with the girls whose names I've since forgotten. LOL.

A few hours later, back in my room, and with a few tequila shots in her, the girl literally pulled my dick out of her mouth, told me her tuition was US $200 and as I started to explain that this was a lot of money she wasn't getting from me, argued with me while continuing to blow me. In hindsight I should have been more clear about what I want. I won't go to Jokers and pick up a high priced hardcore hooker, but I will pipeline only a week or two ahead of time, be clear that I'm an American and am here to have fun and not looking for anything long term. Using Tinder provided the best experience because you can see how far away someone is from you and it's clearly a hook up site.

I met a really sexy Nigerian girl thru Tinder and she came out within 90 minutes of my deciding she was worth a first hand look. She left early, only drank a fruit juice, but texted me the next day, came over and fucked me raw.

For anyone who hasn't had the virulent poisoning I got, I went to my new friend's hotel nearby feeling a bit lightheaded, within 10 minutes was lying on his bathroom floor having thrown up and completely shit myself with diarrhea down to my knees. Post shower and a weak attempt of cleaning up after myself, my wing who I had known all of two days was totally sympathetic, hooked me up some shorts to limp home in (mine were done and done) and kept checking in till I got better. He paid his girls at the hotel 50 cedis for the unenviable task of cleaning up the sprayed excrement I didn't.

I almost made it back to my hotel room without incident, but ended up blacking out and collapsing on top of a housekeeping cart steps from my room. Scratched my shoulder on the way down to hitting my head hard on the floor. Not sure how long I was out for, or if CTE is in my future, but the shoulder is bruised like a mother fucker. Be careful of what you eat fellas and be prepared with Cipro ahead of time.

And this wasn't even the last I unintentionally screwed him. Just last night, he hooked up with the GF of SFBJG (school fee blow job girl) and we went out. Now fellas, I have had a lot of regrettable paid sexual encounters in my life, in the US, in Costa Rica, in Sosua, women who clearly. Or said another way. Make it abundantly obvious they would rather be doing a lot of other things rather than fucking you.

I didn't even have the heart to call My buddy I'll make it up to him, but a man doesn't blow up another man's bathroom and bedroom. That just ain't right, and I did both.

I don't know that Accra is perfect by any means, but with the experience I had, if I decide to go back I know how I'd make my next trip better.

It's definitely not point and shoot though, more hunt and work it, just with a much higher success rate than one would find at home.

BTW. Been visiting the Shisha Lounge next to the Niagara Plus Hotel just south of Oxford on Adjoate (around the corner from the Roots hotel & Apartment). It opens at 11 am but is more of a night place, starting after 9:30 or so. Some very good looking talent there, mostly near the bar. Good place to enjoy the cigar.

In Accra, you can check out Lapaz on the N1. Starting from Nyamekye Junction towards the Main Traffic light that connects to Accra Central, you will find lots of pubs littered along the roadside. They are usually busy after 5 pm. The pros often hang out by standing close to the pubs or gather in twos and threes feigning conversations. However, during this period of incessant rains they will be found mostly at a pub close to the Race Course taxi station. The pub offers a shaded lounge and an inner bar. There are also guest houses just across the streets. All for your convenience! Another bubbling location is the Choice pub, originally known as "London Bar" It is about 400 metres from the old Weija Barrier that leads you to the famous West Hills Mall. Here, you will find an assortment of them. The pub closes late around 3 or 4 am. It's easy to catch a cab to nearby hotels, guest houses and movie rooms. Pros here are a blend of nationalities, especially Ghana, Nigeria and Liberia...
