You are better off trying for the day time link up with the ladies at the hotels. I've often found some of the hotel pools to be a great location (Movenpick in particular).

Like someone already mentioned money is quite tight so its a bit of patience and not being taken for a ride. Maximum 300 hundred cedis for a small gift should be fine and that caters for transportation and small monies.

You definitely overpaid, don't forget minimum wage in Ghana is 500 ghs and the average salary is 1500 ghs a month. Locals pay between 50 ghs and 150 ghs for the girl you just described, always negotiate on the price this is a third-world African country and things are hard currently.
