Danquah Circle. There is the Calabash at 200 m from the circle and you find some nice SW around with good service. You can go in the opposite small short time hotel or take them to your hotel.
Jokers Club. Nice club with high (expensive) class ladys. Not my style.
La Paz. I was there on a Saturday evening and there was nothing to find.
Chicos Pub (and hotel) - closed for renovation.
SOMANYA.
Stayed at the Palm Hotel. (basic but ok). There is a brand new big discotheque on walking distance from the Palm hotel. I was there on a Sunday evening and there was many people, young and older, live band outside, DJ inside. Good experience. But in the daytime there is less to do in Somanya.
After all, in Ghana you can find good quality for less money. Halve the price than in Ivory Coast!! GO, GO.

Posts: 112Kumasi hotel suggestions + contacts?
Any suggestions please for cheap hotel (less than 100 cedis) in Kumasi? Ideally clean and in the center? I don't care for flat screen TV.
Also, if you could share any contacts, it would be greatly appreciated.
Millions of thanks.

Hi guys,
How do you get the second reference on the tourist visa application? The first one can be the hotel, but how to get the second one? I'm not getting response from my local consul.

Sir,
Thank you for reporting my name among your sources of inspiration for your Ghana reentry.
As always, after a long absence, you will find disappointments and appreciations. Count that Ghana has changed in 25 years, you have changed and the world has changed.
One of the most significative aspect that will affect your new visit to Ghana will certainly be the advent of the digital era. I have experienced some good adventures using applications as WeChat that is very used in Ghana, despite of being the direct contact very predominant there.
Also the possibility to be always reachable and always be able to reach others, changes completely the way of leading relations in the country.
The aid that Google Maps offers when you are on the road is incomparable with any kind of paper map, specially in the night or in a new place.
I think the best way to experience Ghana after 25 years is to afford it as a completely new experience and as I always recommend, don't spend too long time in Accra because as city it is too big, crowded, chaotic and bad organized.
I even had been in Tamale and Bolgatanga and I found an excellent situation there.
I hope to read new reports about your staying there and count on me for any info and direction.
Keep us posted.

Next month I go back to Ghana, my first time was twenty five years ago.
I want to see the difference and hope to have again a good time.
I think I go to follow the footsteps of our friend RomanGuy, his reviews are interesting with very usefull details.
I like his traveling style; So I expect to visit Chico's Pub, La Paz area and maybe also Somanya. On Google Street View there aren't.
Interesting points to see. I hope to find them. I report whem I am back.
