Got the George shakedown last night. Me and my Cameroon girl started at shsisha. Then the strip place. Then ended the night at Firefly. Pretty dead night as its a Wednesday.

So I have driver for the night. Get 2 minutes out of Firefly and police blockade. Get out of car sir. Get out of car ms Cameroon. Do you have drugs? Let me check your pockets. The lord is looking down on me because I ate my Viagra in Firefly. That would have been nightmare if they found a blue pill in the plastic bag in my pocket. I wouldn't take V or see out to the clubs.

They check Cameroons purse and wanted her to go to car to look at it. She said no fu. Way. I am not. They backed down. Then my driver said I knew her and she is my girlfriend. The police then says call her. I call she answers and the cops said get in car. We were on out way.

So it looks like you are not allowed to have a prostitute in the cab with you. Is this the new president policy? Take separate cabs maybe? Worth the extra 10 bucks. If you do have a girl you just picked up make sure you have her number in your phone and play the girlfriend route.

Well, Ghana just handed me my ass, and showed me I'm not quite ready to monger in the tougher parts of the world quite yet.

Night started bad, ended bad, with bad in the middle.

Started with an asshole cab driver who wanted to drive every back road in Africa when there is a highway straight from my hotel to Osu. He didn't know where Hot Gossip was. I had directions because I had already experienced this last night. But he wasn't particularly interested in following them. Took me to about three clubs before he asked a bouncer on the street how to get to Hot Gossip, even though I knew the fucking way. Good way to learn the city, that's for sure.

Get to HG, and I get approached by Patricia and friend, from Liberia. They seem nice and fun loving. Normally I do better at sussing a nicer working girl, but this time I fucked up big style. She was the African nightmare I've read about in this thread.

Go to take her home, and 100 m out of HG I get shaken down by the police. Quasimodo you totally called it only two posts below, demanding 2000 cedis. I get out of that for 300. Such a good time. I was never worried that they were going to actually arrest me, I knew it was a scam, I just sat there acting like they were scaring me. They had all the power, as always.

Back to the hotel. Driver takes me to an ATM way too far away to replenish my cash. Get to the room and Patricia transforms herself into broom Hilda. I wanted to laugh. Her nice hair put into a natty net. Clearly designed to keep me from being at her for too long. At that point I knew she was going to be a problem all the way.

She was. I basically settled for "victim sex" where you know you've been beat and at least try to salvage something out of it. She then pulled the extortion routine and it cost me 250 cedis to get rid of her.

LaParadise Inn was good when I visited a couple of years back. Nice food, and very close to Jokers (and of course girl-friendly with no hassle or extra charges). You can catch a bus to Cape Coast from Accra bus station which is very cheap and quite good (a big modern bus, not a matatu type thing) and I assume to Lome as well. There's always a lot of waiting around for these, as you'd expect, so you might want to take a taxi. The owners of Laparadise can help you out there.

I'd be interested to hear from you or anyone else about Oasis Beach resort in cape coast. Looking at its Tripadvisor it says it has big parties there, especially at weekends. Semipros, pros, fun girls, horny voluntourists, stuck up NGO types. Would be good to know what sort of crowd.

I found a car rental place that you rent the car and it comes with driver. Cost is 75 USD plus gas. They said gas from Accra to Aflao is 55 USD. Seems kinda high on the gas. The bus to Aflao leaves at 6 am. Ouch. I will see what quotes I get from drivers once I get there. I have to go to Cape Coast from Aflao all in same day. So might take the bus from Aflao to Accra then taxi from there as I think I miss the last bus leaving for Cape Coast. Might be a long day traveling all the way from aflao to cape coast ouch.

OK so we have all done Jokers the the rejuvenated Hot Gossip in Osu, At least for me, is the best Party in Town. Same girls, better music and now cage dancers in bikinis and a fantastic vibe. Some nights I've been to jokers and its now half empty and dull, left to Hot Gossip and its packed and vibrant. I mean WTF Jokers is the icon right?

Some white dude in Hot Gossip has the girls on a control, and def no messing about, but they are stunning.

Of you haven't tried it turn left at KFC Oxford Street. Best night out in Accra by far.

4 days Lome. Residence Hotelier Oceina.

4 days Cape Coast. Oasis Beach Resort.

Then back to Accra last day in Cape Coast.

Figure this give me good general trip of the area.

Too much traveling or not bad? How much private taxi can I negotiate Accra to Toga Border? Toga Border to Cape Coast?
