I have a last minute business trip to Agadir next week and will be staying at the Royal Atlas. I KNOW I need an apartment in addition to my hotel room "pour faire mes affaires" while there. But I am at a loss at how to nail one down. Is it possible to find and negotiate an apartment after I arrive? Where should I go to do this. The section of town near theAtlas would be best and most convenient.

You should be able to nail down an apartment within 24 hours of arrival. Your best bet is to ask hotel reception for the nearest 'agence immobiliere'. Chances are that staff at the reception will know someone who has an apartment to let and if not shall point you in the right direction to the nearest agence immobiliere.

I have tried www.homelidays.com in the past and either noone replies or the owner refuses. In the last month I have applied for 15 different accomodations on homelidays.com but received only 3 replies. Of the 3 all of them said that they will not rent me an apartment if I bring girls back. Some have been saying that it is against the law to have sex outside of marriage (we all know that but it happens quite regularly in Marrakech!!)

I first experienced the sex scene in Marrakech in May this year, but we had to find a local guy who asked for 2000 dirham a night for a basic apartment that could house 3 guys and 3 girls. It was in Palmerie but not really worth that kind of money. We also had to continually bribe the caretaker which ate into our funds as well. Ideally I want an apartment in Gueliz but at a decent price. We just paid 2000 dirham a night because we didn't know any better, but we realised we can get apartments at a third of that price and just need some more help before we go again in March 2010.

What I am asking is if there is anyone who has a contact or knows people who can get girl friendly apartments without the hassle of asking a local person who probably charges commission? Please PM me and help as I am going in March next year and don't want a load of hassle on my arrival at Marrakech Menara.

Whilst I have been to Marrakech in May I would like to say that all the hassle of getting an apartment is in fact worth it as the women in Marrakech are absolutely stunning. You walk into any night club in Gueliz, like Paradise, Actors and Theatro all you see is wall to wall women. Even at Mcdonalds whilst having your Big Mac you can pull women. In which other country would you be able to monger outside Mcdonalds?

Late September I'm going to be in Marrakech and Agadir. I'm still looking for an apartment but it's a difficult task, especially if you literally can't see the place. But I want to hit the ground running to I'll want to be sure to have something arranged.

On getting an apartment these are a few things you (me) will need to take in consideration:
Don't take one in the the city centre, take one outside the centre or even better a villa (if you can afford it)
Make sure you confirm with the owner that you can bring visitors over. Making this clear when you get there as well before paying would be a smart idea.

Day 6

Slept for most of the day. Got ready and went to the seafood place again for dinner. After a short walk jumped in a taxi and off to the main boulevard 20 Aout. Stopped outside 'La Fouquet' and climbed out. Time was about 2300hrs so had a quick glance to see which way most of the WG trafic was flowing. Day 4

Travel companion decided he wanted to spend more time with his internet friend. Phoned yesterdays hottie to come out and play but she was on her way to Casablanca for a family funeral, damn! First trip to Morocco accompanied by a friend. What can I say about Agadir. Fantastic weather, lovely beach, brilliant food, nice people and of course plenty of beautiful women to suit a variety of tastes! Stayed at the Ramada for a couple of nights until the apartment was eventually organised. Was probably the most difficult and time consuming task during trip, more difficult than picking up women! Will book in advance from home on my next trip. Anyway found a modern decent apartment with two bedrooms and two shower rooms about ten minutes taxi ride from Agadir beach in the area of Salam.
