Let me answer your question this way:

If you are single, financial ok (house / apartment rent etc), and you have some 50 euros to spend only for drinks and girls per day, than you are better doing in Dakar, more restaurants, ladies, everyday there is something new to be seen.

If you are the more silent guy, looking for a sweet GF who spoils you day and night than you may go to St. Louis, Sally, because life is cheaper there, and in general more tranquile. If you live there you find out that the locals are charming and in general nice. Don't play the wealthy asshole and keep in mind its Africa, than you can be a happy horney smiling lucky Guy there.

But be carefull, soon as the ladies understand that you are a resident there it will be hard to decide who will share the bed with you the following night because the ladies are looking for a " wealthy" guy. But the ladies in Senegal are truely something special, very sweet, not demanding at all regarding money lifestyle, the loca guys treat them like shit.

So finaly, if I were you I would go first to Dakar for 3-4 month, be selective and catch a true 10 in all regards, make her feel comfortable with you and than move out of Dakar (some 10-20km) enjoy the sunrise on the balkony with a nice Gintonic while your Mademoiselle gives you a gentle blowjob.

Thats called lifestyle LOL

I ask for an apartment , good located / 100m away from an internetcaffee, renting time beginning July - 4 October . July / August is high season.

The apartment is about 100m2 , good location and belongs to an norwegian landlord, he asked 3800 $ , settled for 2800$ , he needs a few days to think about it. Beach etc is in walking distance, apartment has a balkony, 3 floor , decent place , good "western" kitchen.

Lets see what comes up from that.

I will look if I have the adress from the apartment I had in 2004, its also possible to rent a house. In 2004 I payed for 6 months 1400 euros up front, in both cases Internet connection might be a problem, don't know how much the things improved till now.

I think you are confusing between poor and corrupt. Agree many receptionists are poor and appreciate tips anywhere however that does not mean you can generalize and say most people in poor countries are corrupt.

I have never been asked for anything by receptionists in Hotels across Africa for anything. If you decide to tip them. How does it make them corrupt? It seems to me that by booking a single room, then taking a guest and paying $2 for them to get in makes the "trickster" more corrupt than the recipient. Does it not? If people in "rich" countries are not so corrupt and icons of greatness, why don't they pay for a double room? As if there is no corruption in the rich developed countries! Get real buddy, your comments are derogatory.

When I come in with a girl, I might double that amount. I usually book a single room, but then the girl always leaves before the morning shift comes in.

Once upon a time in Saint-Louis, Senegal...

I met pular girl at L'Iguane Café. She agreed to spend the night at my hotel and the receptionist took her ID card to be held until she left (in some hotels they just take down the details of the card).

At 5 a.m. I asked the girl to leave, but about 2 minutes later she comes back with the night receptionist. He had asked the girl for the difference of single and double room, which the girl refused to pay. I promised the receptionist to take care of the difference in the morning. Problem solved?

Had I booked a double room, I am sure the receptionist would have found some other excuse to make some money on the side. Anyway, he came back around 5.30 a.m. and said, that since the difference between a single room and a double room was about 8000 F CFA, he would strike out the girls name from my room for 7000 F CFA and I would save 1000 F CFA plus there would be no record of the nocturnal visit. After negotiations, the price fell to 5000 cfa´s (I was too tired to argue), which I paid him. "Next time", the guy told me, "when you need companions, ask me! I know a lot of nice working girls."
