On the "Muslim" issue, did you experience this as a problem? Does it have an impact on the possibilities to get to know girls, have sex with them, or other ugly consequences (like the family trying to force you to marry her or angry brothers cutting your throat)?

I wouldn´t overlook mongering in Senegal just because majority of its population declare themselves to be muslims. Most often the faith is the practical kind and leaves a lot of leeway for financial arrangements.

Couple of weeks ago I hooked up with a beautiful half-guinean-half-senegalese girl (with a French grandmother!), whom I communicated with through her mothers cell phone. Of course, she told her mother, that we were dating more seriously.

I have visited Senegal regularly since 1998 and I have been approached by pros and semi-pros in public many times. This January, for example, I was waiting for my date in L´Imperial Bar, when a girl from Ghana came directly to me and said without introducing herself: "You and I, let´s go for a fuck!" I tried to explain that I am waiting for a friend and she replied: "It will take only an hour. Your date will be late anyway." However, I asked for her name and mobile number, which I got, and waited for my date - who arrived about 90 minutes later!

Carnevalisticus is writing about "big disco near the airport", which I assume to be Casino du Cap Vert. They have good DJ´s and a very good band. Girls, sometimes in groups of 3 or 4, take a room from the hotel and share the time, bringing in customers one by one. This is sometimes a really easy place to score a 9 or a 10, since girl-to-mongerer ratio can be vary favourable. Always be sure to very clearly, but politely show a girl you do not like, that you prefer someone else. This saves you from lot of hassle later.

Girls of almost any body type and facial features can be found in Senegal, also girls from around Western Africa, even from Cape Verde. GFE fantasies are not hard to fullfill, but things can turn ugly, especially if you reveal your hotel or your telephone number.

In downtown Dakar, Le Plateau, good places to wait to be approached are Texas Bar, Le Viking, Le Tropique, Cafe de Rome (Casino Bar or the disco) and of course, Africa Star, where you´ll hardly reach the bar before you have attracted the attention of several girls. The girls usually know hotels, where you can get a room for less than 10 euros per hour. One of the nicer ones, with air conditioning and a shower, is L´Hotel Lion at Avenue Faidherbe. They have a nice lobby, where you might have to wait with your date, especially on the weekends, when the place is hopping with couples - also locals, who can´t go to their parents homes. Even an odd homosexual couple can be spotted...

The shabbier hourly-rate hotels don´t have showers, just a sink and a towel.

If you bring a girl to your hotel, tip the night receptionist or he´ll ask the girl for money, when she is leaving. Then they´ll both turn up at your door when the girl tries to leave and you end up paying more.

Remember - a "girlfriend" might end up costing more than you expected. Cost of eating out in European style can quickly become high when you are paying for two all the time, especially in Dakar, Saint-Louis and Saly.

I have been in Dakar 2004 (info might be a bit old), regarding looks I think we have the same taste. You can find these type of girls in the big disco close to the airport, 7 euros a ride. But the disco is packed full with chicks and you are permanently asked for a smoke or a light or a cigarrette, if you pay only 1 minute attention you are encircled by girls, and the ugly ones are the most daring.

But its a bit difficult, because inside the disco its a bit " underilluminated " and that doesnt help you to verify the looks of a nice " coloured " lady. And a mini maglight would only desturbe. LOL.

Ask for bars at the hotelreception, be carefull while you overnight outside your apartment/ hotel.

In general, when you look at the weekend in the city center you can see these kind of ladies. The price for overnight was 2004 between 20. 000 and 30. 000CFA (like my last one) after 3 days, I stopped paying her and she was more than glad to have a white " boyfriend".

I would say that the girl with, is it 4 photos, in the first post is Latin American, not African.

Nigeria? Hmm. I checked out the pictures that are posted in the Nigeria forum but I have to say the girls don't turn me on at all ........... similar from Nigeria is most likely 99% filled with scam.

I have never traveld to Nigeria, but that will be a place for me to go. When I lived in Italy for 2 years in 2004 and 2005 I had some 100 black ladies, some of them amateurs and in love with me, most of them pros. The body type I prefer, is very similar to the lady on the pic and all Nigerian girls I took had a body similar this. Most of the ladies were from Lagos, Benim or Port Harcourt. But there were also tons of ladies which I really didn't like to take with me, because they were fat or ugly or both. I would say some 10% of the black ladies I saw in Italy. And almost 90% of them are from Nigeria. Are really shag-worthy.

So chip Senegal, choose Nigeria. And forget the internet sites like Afro Induction, they are nowadays almost 99% spam.

When looking at Longhorn's photos, I must say that the "look" he seems to favour is not, in my modest opinion, found in Africa ; I would say that the girl with, is it 4 photos, in the first post is Latin American, not African.

About the Muslims in Senegal, that would of course be bad if it's a limiting factor. But is it really that bad? Quite a few people place Senegal in their top list for mongering. One thing that is turning me off for sure is the rate for female genital cutting that I hear about Senegal.

But can anyone comment on the looks in Senegal? That's my main criterion as I'm quite selective regarding looks.

I just spent two days in Dakar..... I find the girls a bit cool and they do not smile as much as in other African countries..... Got seriously harassed around Place de L` independance and almost mugged.... Decided not to go to all the bars mentioned in previous posts.... As a matter of fact... I decided not to monger at all because my instinct told me that The Gambia and Sierra Leone will be much better destinations.... Still you can have a good time here...but i have travelled a lot and there are better places than Dakar... On the beach i met a really nice gay fellow ( i am not). He was very helpful and wanted to hook me up with a lot of girls from the suburbs whose attitude is different than the inner city ones....STill , i am a spoiled guy and decided to move on...

It's very,very easy to chat up ordinary girls in the street, in a shop or supermarket, or anywhere in The Gambia. Just ask for their phone number, agree to meet them one evening for a meal, and they'll meet you and want to go to your room without the meal first. I don't know about Dakar, though. He had a guy named Bruno from Italy, he drove his car, found him his apartment, etc. Paco would tell me Bruno crazy. Bruno sleeps with 2 different girls every day. For months and months and months. He had 2 girls living with him and still 2 more.

I'm a younger guy with a heart and romance on my mind so I find a girl I can pretend is my girlfriend and we drink and dance. In the back of my mind I might meet the right girl and marry her.

Concerning what your ex-pat friend said. Dakar never was exciting or interesting for nightlife compared to somewhere like Rio. Senegalese have a very traditional and muslim culture and therefore a normal "college student/office worker" type girl will NEVER NEVER NEVER be in a bar.

Don't expect wet t-shirt contests here. If you are staying for a week or more and like to watch BET then you will meet some beautiful ladies.
