I’ve been asked for directions to find Far East /Maharajah in Maadi. My advice for someone coming from central Cairo would be to get a taxi to take you to Maadi Grand Mall. Most drivers should be able to find their way there. Then either bail out and get a local taxi from in front of the Mall or have the driver get directions from one of the other drivers hanging around. Either way from Maadi Grand Mall head in the direction of New Maadi, straight across the first roundabout, along Road 257, past the “Olympic Stadium” on your left, and come to a T junction and turn right onto El Nasr Street which is divided by a central reservation. Head up for about 300 metres and come to a roundabout, go all the way round and head back down El Nasr street in the direction you’ve just come. Far East is immediately on your right, just before the Shell Petrol station. Don’t get there too early or be put off if it appears to be in darkness. There’s plenty of life within! The place is totally without pretension but the “rules of engagement” are that you have to make the first move with the girls. Hope this helps - and I’m assuming that in the year I’ve been out of Cairo nothing much has changed.
