Today I went through the Nasr street in Maadi from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, nothing there! I checked again and again, Ali Ali Pharmacy, the Mosque, the supermarket with blue sign in a crossover.

That's strange, I cruised yesterday as well and there were 2 girls in front of Gracias. Anyhow, it was probably empty because of of the football match (there was not a single person on the street) and the unusually cold weather.

You will need a tourist visa each time you come. Also, the voltage is definitely 200v and it is no big deal anyway because you can buy the transformer and adaptors here...

The voltage in Egypt is 220 not 200.

Ok good that sounds pretty much like it is all over Africa. I am white British so I will not worry about it.

I am assuming the tourist visa is easily obtainable on arrival at the Airport. Please tell me if I am wrong. Do I need a new visa every time I enter the country? I will be there and back a few times. Turns out its a nice place to chill at between Europe and Africa.

Hotel Juliana is only $15 a night single, $20 for a couple, and is said to be comfortable with free wifi.

One report that has disturbed my mind says that the voltage in Egypt is only 200v and one may need to come with a transformer for charging laptops, is this true? What are the wall sockets like? Two pin I hear. It would be a bind to have to carry several adapters from 3 to 2 pin.

Yesterday I drove throught the pyamids street and saw many well decoreated discos including luxury ones with shining lights and sexy posters(one named Ramses, etc)and those that have small doors but seems many local guys were entering.

Besides Africana and Europa which were mentioned many times, are there any news about these discos in the street? (price? Quality of girls? Fun? Is it ok for a foreigner to go without being bothered by those low-level local young men?)

Well, because I am Egyptian they fetch through my stuff (checked luggage and handbag) as a way to say "what did you spend your money on fellow Egyptian and welcome back to our country you greedy rich bastard" and pester me for tips, preferably in US Dollars. But since you're a foreigner (Asian or White but not African) I doubt they will do that and worse comes to worse they will either confisticate the toys from you or demand a small tip.

Why don't you just hide it well underneath your clothes or something? Whenever they open my bags they only looked briefly and even when I did have porno CDs from Thailand, the guy took a $1 USD tip in his right hand which he pretended to shake my hand with.

They search 1 of 20 bags but even if they find it pay the guy 50P and he will bring it to your taxi.

Worst case they will take it from you depending where are you from if you are form Europe USA please dont worry at all.

Usually you are not searched when entering Cairo, specially if you are foreigner
