There is almost no fun in this country even Halal fun!. A chaios country with no system no discipline what so ever anything goes. If you have to visit Egypt then do. You can see this in everything. I will give examples:
-Cairo airport has either no phones or the phones are not working. The excuse was "it is a new airport!"
-An as*hole will show up asking no pictures taken!
-Another as*holes will show up and presist that you hire a limo. He will use all methods to convince you that you have to hire him. Starting from you will get robbed if you do not to I will show you the Limo. Godness! the limo was not even a Limo. Just a low end normal car!
-Do not rent a car from the airport. Some as*hole clowns will give you 10times the rates.
-Do not even rent a car even if you know someone who can rent their car for reasonable rates. People do not drive with any traffic rules. You will find people do not stick to traffic lanes, bicycles, donkeys and people are in the streets ... many other traffic rules are broken!
-You can not cross the streets unless you see an Egyptian crossing and do the same.
-If you went to order food or get anything people do not line up. There is no rules. Sometimes they will serve you first as a foreigner sometimes they serve who shouts louder!
-Also watch out as a foreigner as you might be asked to be pay the same amount in dollars instead of LE for the same thing. In other words you will pay more than 5times (according to current exchange rates) the value.
-Again the return trip, I checked in early and asked the girl to assign me a seat far away from the engine with window preference and it seems she does not know shit she gave me a seat right on the wing next to the engine.
-Again at Cairo airport and if you are using Egypt-air people ride the airplane in the same chaotic way. A person came informing us the plane arrived and that when crazy people started rushing to the desk meanwhile another as*hole was calling for some passengers' names. It seems the idiots took those passengers whole seat boarding passes!
-I waited till this chaios is over then boarded to find an as*hole sitting in my assigned seat and he wants me to take another seat! These people think this is a bus or what!
-Egypt is a very hypocrite country, I happen to have spent sometime in Ramadan. People are not fastening or respecting their own religion but want us to respect it. I advise you to buy your food or things you need and eat them in your room.

I have a lot to share and can go forever but that's it for now.

Yes, this is Egypt my friend. Get used to it. Everything has been going downhill here since the late 70's (before I was even born). No sex industry. No fun. No nothing. As an Egyptian I do not see the same problems here as in 3rd-world countries like Indonesia and Thailand. Cheating, greed and disrespect is something to do with Egyptian genetics (or maybe Islam? Sorry for those who are Muslim) I am afraid. This is not only to do with foreigners, as they (the Egyptian people) do the same tricks and feel it is their right steal and cheat from the wealthy minority / capitalist classes.

Just last week I could not find a normal taxi who would take me to Maadi from the new airport without demanding payment in dollars!! This is ridicolous.

Due to the enormous stealing and general nightmare the country is going through now I expect the country to be overrun by extremist islamists within the next few years, with the wealthy minorities shifting their wealth abroad or marrying non-Egyptians. Egyptian women attitudes/values have deteriorated so much that they have become comparable to Westernised women without the intelligence. They seldom give sex, and the 1/3 marriages end in divorce quickly.

If you thought renting a car here was bad, what would you say about parking it? In Maadi last year I left my $110,000 car parked outside a luxury villa and came an hour later to find it smashed by another car by accident. Does anyone give a shit? Nope, neither the police or insurance company. It is STRONGLY reccomended not to drive here.

It is no surprise I am spending 4 months a year in Thailand now.

I would also advice not to do anything in public. Could be very dangerous. There are some swinger sites (try SDC) with a few Egyptians. I met some couple of years agoa. Would advise you to get in touch and let them organise private parties but nothing public.

But surely there must be some fun clubs, bars and discos in Hurghada where we can go and she can show off more and be touched inside without hassle or problems. There is Calypso and Little Buddha? /Buddha Bar? In Hurghada where you can have some fun. Calypso is a Disco and the second is kinda of a Disco/Lounge thing. You will not see many Egyptian in those places during this time because it is Ramadan. So Egyptians won't able to go in and Drink etc. So you will mostly find foreigners. I wouldn't do anything in Public but inside a Club it is ok to bond.

BTW, I am going to be in Hurghada and El Gouna doing Kitesurfing during 3-10 of September. So we might bump into each other.

1st point, never do show off in Cairo, that might end by a dramatic story in local newspaper of dramatic accident to your wife (Nobody would save her).

In Hurghada, you may have a chance but you should test the environment before you start showing off.

Some flashes and test the replies and increase the show as needed.

I do not know much places in hurghada.

But I can assure I saw some flashes in Sharm El Shiekh, especially between 2-4am

I had a friend who was able to rent a luxurious car through networking and connections for a very cheap price for a month. The guy who rented to him was not even a rental agency. He rented the car of a guy who works in outside the country. Instead of keeping the car in the garage he made money.
