passed by harry's pub this friday, it was apparently karaoke night, i must say it wasn't half bad. there were a couple of nice songs and the atmosphere overall was pleasant.

the nice thing about karaoke is that everybody was moving around and comments on the singers and people were shared by everybody, this gave me a good excuse to mingle in the crowd as much as possible.

it took me a long while trying to engineer a trip to cairo. sod's law that on my arrival, i learnt from this board that the two massage parlours which were top of my list of places to do had been closed down.

That is bad news indeed. I don't know if this site information was part of their intelligence, maybe not, those places were visited by people who are not members. But it also could be.

I visited all these places with no fear in the past, believing the sites were "protected" by some specific officer who got its monthly or weekly share of the business, as it happens in most countries were the P4p is not legal. I really hope those poor working girls won't get too much trouble, but I'm afraid they will. I was also thinking that those sensitive informations (MP names, addresses, girls names.-- use of ** is not so protective) should not be published visibly and only provided via PM to registered members, but then, does not completely protect, as any intelligence police could be one registered too.

I was worried when I saw John Jay's report on Dream Gym (and seeing AnExpat's confirmation was worse). I called Dream, Dana Center, and Nile Gym today and got no answer at any of them. Hoping for the best, I visited Nile Gym at 5 this afternoon and the doors were locked. So it sure looks like a crackdown on all these places, or maybe once word of Dream's problems got out the others closed to protect themselves. I heard that local elections are coming up in April. Could it have been done in advance of those? Or for the Prophet's Birthday holiday next week? Anyway, it looks like we may have to re-discover these places if they do indeed re-emerge. If there are stories in the papers it's hard to believe the places would re-open in the same locations/with the same names. I just hope the authorities didn't get onto them via this site, the way they've gone after the bloggers.
