    Dear Fanculetti!

Well for a quickie during a stopover :

Get a taxi to the Global Hotel - if you are there before 7pm then you can get a sauna & massage.

The massage includes all the important bits too !

If you need a reasonable place to stay - Then the Global is $50 per night and walking distance to the Concorde hotel & Dome club, although action there doesn't start before 11pm - midnight.
Plenty has been written herebefore about Concorde & the Dome

    Have fun & report back!

    Dear all,

just a quick message seeking for advices.

I am passing by Addis on Saturday morning: just a stop over. Do you know a way to meet a lady for a quick meeting (two/three hours) near the airport?

I guess it is almost imposible due to the short time available but if you have an advice please post it.

Otherwise, please let me know you advices if I'll be able to stay for the night. Which is the best place to go to pick up a gorgeous girl in Addis. As you may understand I have little time available and few problems about costs. Something like a club frequented by open-minded girls...

    Thanks for your help.

Right Mahku, I forgot all about the Milk House. It used to be crowded fairly early, and was a good place to come before wandering over to the Concord, Memos, or the other late night places. I do not know if it's still the same, since it's been three years since I was back in Addis.

Heading back to Addis at the end of the month and so looking forward to it. There is now a nightclub attached to the Ghion and bringing girls into the room seems to involve a simple signing in and small fee.

The Milk House near the Hilton Hotel is both a nice place to drink with expats and pick up girls.

    Green Fun:

I have stayed at the Sheraton several times and never had a problem bringing women in. No one ever gaveme any hassles whatsoever. There are women who hang around the lobby of the Sheraton from time to time but I am not sure how available they were.

If you only have a couple of days there, why not just go to Memos or Concord or one of the other clubs and pick up someone who appeals to you. There's a very wide range of looks available to you at any of these places. Alternatively, if you get a chance, go hang out for an hour or two at one of the coffee shops on Bole Road and start chatting up some of the ladies who come in. This is by no means a sure fire way of getting women, but it does work some of the time.

I am reaching Addis from J burg on 21st. Staying at shereton for two nights. Is there availability of girls in lobby or bar? Prefer a non pro wheatish complexion girl. Any contacts, please post.

From posts it appears that one has to work hard to get a girl to room. With a business trip this becomes difficult. Hope to get a good non pro sex.

    Ndara,

    Glad you like Peru.

    Chino:

Thanks for the nice review. I guess the reason that I was fairly successful is that I genuinely like Ethiopia and Ethiopians and I suppose it showed. It's important not to act like you would in some bar in Uganda or Ghana. These are proud people and they need to be treated with respect.

    Ciao,

    ADDIS HOTEL(s)

I'm in need of a clean, safe, nice location and monger-friendly hotel that does not have the Hilton & Sheraton expensive price!

Any suggestions will be appreciated as I hit Addis Sept/Oct.

    Good Enough!

Since 1900 I have been in Addis 27 times.

I only can totaly agree with what you have written.

If you like the food, you can live very cheap and healthy, a lot of vegetarian stuff as well. As for girls, its easy, very easy, but you have to be polite and treat them as you normally do with girls in Europe. Western food you can forget, except Sheraton or Hilton, that is true. Oralsex is very common, more or less as in the Western world. As you said, donīt push it, they will do it themselves if they like you. All in all the best comment about Addis I have read in this Forum.

    Addis Redux

I have been reading the last few posts with great interest, and I'm starting to think that maybe the better part of three years that I spent in Addis may have been atypical. I've worked in 14 African countries, on both coasts of the continent, so it's not as if I lack a basis for comparison. I've also worked in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, so I know the SE Asia routine pretty well too.

I guess what I enjoyed so much about Ethiopia is the very thing that put alot of guys off. The culture is so rich, the traditions so ingrained and the people so proud, that it's unlike any other country I've ever visited in Africa aside from Eritrea. It's true that the girls do not throw themselves at you as in Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda or the other sub-Saharan countries. It's also true you have to work a little bit (a very little bit) to get over. But once you do, it's heavenly.

As to the food, it's true that Western cuisine is not all that terrific there. There are a couple of mediocre Italian places, three very good but expensive restaurants in the Sheraton, and a couple of others. However, I found Ethiopian food pretty tasty, and I was willing to overlook the culinary deficit. After all, I live in France, and for me almost every other country lacks something in the food department.

My advice, to those who have not been there is to be a little laid back. Don't come on too strong. Be respectful and reasonably attentive. You will ultimately wind up with more pussy than you can handle. Reluctance to perform bbbjs was not my experience either, but then, I tried hard (pun intended) not to force anything.

It's true that you're probably not going to walk into a "typical" African bar, and have 20 women grabbing your cock and 20 more putting your hands on their tits. If that's what turns you on, go to any of the sub-Saharan countries and you will not be disappointed, but don't come to Addis because it's a different kind of experience entirely.

I have found the conflicting reports on Addis to be a little confusing. I have been considering a break there over the Christmas period via Bangkok on Ethiopian Airlines but wonder whether I shouldn't just stay in Asia given some of the negative comments. I had been looking at staying in the Concord HOtel, but perhaps that's too near the action. Any hotel comments anyone? Are the concord suites good value? I doubt I can afford the 5-star rates. Also is it easy enough to find a car and driver for day hires and trips?

Thanks for any comments or advice.

Actually I donīt think your report is completely atypical. I have been to Ethiopia 3 times, both to study and for travelling, and compared to many other african countries, for example Kenya, Uganda and Ghana, I found Ethiopia far less interesting when it comes to girls (and food and nightlife as well). Sure the women are in my opinion about the most beautiful in Africa, but in bed they are among the worst. Hardly ever any BJ, many seemed to prefer to just lie on their back and the fact that many have had their clitoris removed turn me off somewhat. And I donīt think sex is cheaper in Ethiopia than elsewhere in Africa. I have never paid more than 15 us$ for an allnighter in Africa, and I have always found it far easier to get normal girls/semi pros in other african countries. I am now in my mid twenties and was 21 when I was there to study, but for my entire 4 months period I never succeded to bed any of my fellow students( which of course can have a very easy explanation that I am not attractive enough or something similar).
Of course these are just my own observations, and apparentely others have completely different views of Ethiopia. Maybe I would have liked Ethiopiaīs sex scene more if I didnīt have the experience from a lot of other great countries. I really like Ethiopia though but for other reason than sex.
For sex there are certainly much better countries to try like Colombia, Brazil, Thailand, PI, Cambodia, Kenya, Ghana etc, but once again luckily we all think differentely.
Peru where I am currently is not too bad either...

I'm beginning to believe my experience was atypical. Could it be that the place has changed that much in a few years?

I must add that I was not alone on my trip and that my fellow traveller (himself a monger of long-standing with dozens of destinations under his belt) didn't like Addis either.

Of course, if you have girl prices as your absolute priority, maybe Addis beats all but once you get under 30 dollars a fuck, does it matter if it gets any cheaper? Only if you're on a very tight budget.

I remember trying to chat up a receptionist in our hotel (hotel "Yordanos" or something similar). I tipped a waiter to convey my interest to her. The girl let me know that she was married and not available, or so the waiter. The girl was tense, the waiter was tense, not at all the friendly, wink-wink, nudge-nudge atmosphere I have experienced elsewhere in Africa in similar situations.

As to the girls in bed, they seemed to be paranoid about AIDS, treated cum like high-grade nuclear waste. This is something that puts me off no end.

I also remember a disco where a stunning girl kept turning men down for no obvious reason, which gave me the impression that some girls were out of bounds and really playing hard to get.

I also remember we went to "one of the best" Chinese restaurants in town where they served food literally sprinkled with garlic and overcharged us so shamelessly an angry discussion ensued. I was so hungry one night I took a cab to the Hilton and ordered a pizza and guess what? The buggers had stuffed it with garlic too! I remember being hungry in Cuba years ago but it was because of food shortages. In Addis, it seemed impossible to get a meal that agreed with me. I kept eating "Nile Perch" at the hotel restaurant to get my daily protein minimum.

And, of course, there was the problem with money. Had to go queuing up in a bank to change money and were cheated at the airport when we tried to change back our excess local currency into dollars. Even before our trip, the Ethiopian consulate had contributed to the hassle because they only accepted visa applications four weeks ahead of the flight date, not any sooner.

All in all, too many things that didn't turn out right compared to my many positive experiences in other African countries. Wouldn't mind having a bunch of tchat leaves to chew on right now though ...
