Things must have changed a whole lot. Addis is definately a man's paradise. Check it out again. I was there in February and can't wait to return for more pleasure. Addis has been one of the best kept secrets in Africa, the Dome club at the Concord hotel or the club at the Sheraton Hotel you will meet stunning women very willing to please you at very low rates.

I cannot wait to go on my 5th visit in September, I always stay at the Concord, most evenings I start at the bar where there is lively music, a meal at Chinese restaurant, then pop down stairs to the club for another great experience with no problems taking the girls back to your room!!

I would have to agree that the food takes some getting used to. The injera just never seems to agree with my system. Great pasta and pizza to be had though.

About the girls: Well, if you can't find good ones you just aren't looking. They can be found in all kinds of places. I got girls from the hotel front desk, from discos, piano bars, from the qat room in Lalibela. Also easy to find just on the street. That doesn't mean skanky street walkers, but nice girl student types that you can chat up and have all kinds of fun with.

Do be on the lookout for the coffee ceremony scam. Usually some guy will approach you and say he wants to practice his English. Then he will invite you to come and watch an "Ethiopian Culture Ceremony" or some such words. Then he'll take you to a room in a house where they'll be doing the coffee roasting thing. There will usually be several girls there and drinks will be brought out. But soon they'll slap you with an exorbitant bill and you'll have to either pay up or make a run for it. So if one of these guys approaches you just ignore him.

Have fun in Ethiopia, it really is a great destination.

Your experience is very surprising because I spent 6 weeks there and I had a memorable experience. Apart from my home country, it is the only country that I visited and had to take three days off to rest up. I think you should go back, but this time, do the opposite of what you did 3 years ago. I doubt anyone is capable of draining Ethiopia of its beauties, oh well, maybe AIDS. So pack some condoms and " Vitamin V" and head on back. The lovely ladies are waiting for you.

I don't know what your talking about maybe they were pimping you while you were there. My expereinces there is totally different you can find those babes that are dead in bed true.

But prices you can't beat anywhere and I had a student who "just does this for fun and extra cash" from the concorde she was gorgeous and absolutely amazing in bed, wild frantic and passionate very compatible, lovemaking damn still got her number too. Was in Addis a few months ago. Really loved it. I guess the company your with can break or make your trip as I experienced in Abidjan. Maybe going for the amateurs would have made your trip a bit more enjoyable.

Girls are relatively expensive because Addis is a diplomatic city (seat of the Organisation of African States). Plenty of money around to spoil prices. I was also told that Addis got drained of much of its beauties by Djibouti, which is where the French army has its base and to which girls can travel by train.

Girls paranoid about Aids, some girls requiring 2 condoms. Horrible food, taxi drivers racketting one another for custom (you are "not allowed" to switch taxi drivers mid-way into your stay, the previous one will no allow it, you are HIS customer for the duration etc.). No girls in town waiting to be picked up, only men. Plenty of small red-light places, but with pimps all over the place, ten pimps to one girl, pimps opening the taxi door for you and patting you on the shoulder and giving his "last recommendations" to his hoe until the last minute. Buhrk!

Only valuable attraction : tchat (or Kat). Same effect as low doses of coke. 100% legal though. Ask a girl to show you how it's done, they like it too. US soldiers in Somalia came back hooked on the stuff.
